which rev-a-shelf trash pullout should I order?

I'm going to have to put the trash under the sink because I need the space for a drawer bank. I will have a 33" sink base and am wondering if anyone knows which revashelf product to order so that we can have the trash pullout. Anyone?

Am worried that an undermounted 9 or 10" sink will sit to low for the trash. I am getting a sink with the drain in the rear center. Does anyone have this set up going through revashelf? Sure could use some guidance.

also the sink will either be the ticor s113 where the drain is on the side and in the rear, or the franke oax110 where the drain is center rear. but again am concerned that the depth of either of them (10") will not allow for a trash pullout even IF I can figure out which revashelf to get?

have you read about those having back pain with the only thing different being the 'new' deep sink?

maybe you could search for the threads on here.

I'm now looking for a more shallow new sink.

I have a 9" pullout, also, although it is an in-cabinet pullout, and you do loose a lot of room. It does make the space left much more accessible, though. The inside usable space dimensions would be very helpful. I have looked everywhere and not been able to find them. If anyone has the measurement, PLEASE post it. I am sure it would help a lot of people considering these pullouts. I would want the upper spice pullout only for the small jars and rectangular tins, of which they make very few any more. So most would be the small round jars. I can keep my larger spices in the upper cabinet next to the pullout. The smaller ones tend to get lost though, and hard to find without emptying out the spice cabinet. I designed away my corner lazy susan that I used in my old kitchen that kept them relatively accessible, in favor of a glass front lighted cabinet. I measured my spices and the tins are 1 1/4 inches wide, the McCormick small glass jars are 1 1/2 inches and the McCormick small plastic jars are 1 3/4 inches wide. Small extracts are about 1 inch wide to 1 1/4 inch wide. So 1 3/4 inches are plenty to make it functional for me, since not all my spices would fit in the upper one anyway. I love the idea of the peg board, but with no solution for my spices I am not sure if that would be most useful if I can only have one. On the other hand, I know I would rather not be bending down or kneeling on the floor to find the most frequently used ones. The peg board might let me get rid of the on the counter utensil holder, which would leave a nicer, cleaner and less clutter look. If I went with a lower spice pullout, it would probably just house the less frequently used items. Then I would keep just my favorites in the upper cabinet. Anyway, I need to decide soon. If anyone has the inside dimensions or can show how they were installed in an upper filler with wide moldings over it, it would be immensely helpful. Ordering them and returning them is not an option since there are steep restocking fees as well as shipping to pay. I would only get about 50% back if I had to return one. Sue

I didn't do any research on the brands as my cab maker bought what he has a good track record using for customers. Mine is the first you pictured. Has worked great for 2.5 years. For some reason, the top mounted ones looking so.....ummmm....hang-y to me. Silly to say. It's like they aren't supported. I'm sure they are though. Maybe I'm just used to how securely my cans fit into the metal frame. No tipping or jostling cans, which it seems to me the top mounted ones might experience. Don't know without experience. Anyway, I like mine.

Sorry to bump this after so much time. Here's a picture of the trash compactor. It says that it fits in a 15 inch width cabinet. It took me this long to contact a few custom cabinet makers in my area. 2 of them have told me that to replace the trash compactor with the double pull out trash/recycling that I want, I would need to not only have a cabinet door/face, but also they'd need to create a cabinet box and a frame too. However, by doing this, the width of the side of the cabinet box would mean that they wouldn't be able to put in the pull-out that I want, which needs a width of 14.8 inches (the trash compactor is 15 inches), so I'd need to select a different one, which would have a much smaller bin size. The one I want has 2 50 quart bins, and I would have to go down to 2 27 quart bins, I think, to get it to fit, which is a big difference. I'm also talking to a third custom cabinet guy who said that there might be a way to be able to put in a "floor" to where the trash compactor was, so he could install the double pull out I want (which is bottom mounted, not side mounted) without any sides, and then put some type of frame at the top only, so something that the cabinet door could rest against while closed, but said he'd have to think about how to create it, and get back to me. I'm waiting to hear from him to see if he's thought of something that would work. In addition, the price estimates I've gotten so far were substantially higher than I was expecting. Alison, I'd love to know the details of how you and your dh did this. Did you add a whole cabinet box? If not, what did you mount your pullout to, and what does your door rest against? I have a Rev-a-shelf bottom mount pull out trash but mine is the 4WC-18DM2 double trash can. Before I mounted the door to it, I was a little chicken to drill into the door and used it for a while leaving it under the sink so it didn't pull out. During that time, I needed room between the top of the garbage can and the top of the cabinet opening to put my hand in and throw out the trash. I replaced the basket that came with it with a rubbermaid, I think it was, but I can look it up if need be. When I installed the door and started to use it as a pull out, I could put the taller can back in, but both worked fine. The key is the divider between the front and back trash cans. If there is no divider between the two, you need to find cans that fill the space so they don't tip. If there is a divider like there is in mine, you will be fine. I put the bottle for the hand soap that is hooked to my NeverMT in the back space because there is not sufficient space for a second can to slide under the GD. The pull out slides smoothly and is not wobbly. I am not sure from the photos if the model you are talking about has that divider, or if you are considering the single, you should be fine. Any trash can that fits should work. Don't know if this helps you at all, but maybe someone with that exact model will chime in. Sue

The Rev-A-Shelf trash pullouts are designed for cabinets that are either full-height or just have the one shallow drawer on top.

What I think others have done here, is purchased a roll out tray shelf (ROTS) and attached it to one of the sink cabinet's doors (or get 2 & attach one to each door.)

Size the ROTS for the cabinet opening. Rev-A-Shelf generally tells you not only the width of their ROTS, etc. but also the size opening you need...width, depth, and height.

BTW...the opening needed will also depend on the type of drawer glides....side or bottom. Side glides will take away from the available opening width; bottom glides will will take away from the available opening height. [I hope that makes sense...]

With frameless cabinets, the width opening size is the cabinet width minus the thickness of each side wall. Then, divide that by two if you have two doors.

So, if you have 1/2" side walls:
33" - 1/2" - 1/2" = 32"
32" / 2 = 16" opening on each side of the sink base

If you have 3/4" walls:
33" - 3/4" - 3/4" = 31-1/2"
31-1/2" / 2 = 15-3/4" opening on each side of the sink base

With face framed cabinets, the width opening size is the cabinet width minus the thickness of the face frame on each side. Then, divide that by two if you have two doors.

If you have a 1-1/2" frame around the cabinet (the most common frame size):
33" - 1-1/2" - 1-1/2" = 30"
30" / 2 = 15" opening on each side of the sink base

Note: If you have enough height b/w the bottom of your sink and the bottom of the cabinet, you might be able to get one of the trash pullouts that have the trash cans sitting on a base/ROTS, like the "4WC Series" [Waste Containers --> Wood Accessories --> Pull-Out Waste Containers --> 4WC Series]

Forgot to mention...if you do get a 4WC trash pullout, you'll have to either cut down the bins or get shorter bins to put in the bin "holes".

oh thank you so much! your input is very much appreciated! i hadn't thought about rot but then those don't open with the door do they? i've never had them and the kitchen that i'll have will be all drawers except for the 2 corner lazy susans and sink. anyway, thank you again. guess i should just leave this up to the contractor to figure out. so on i go... running in place!
