I did something that I swore never to do..LONG!

I went to the boss about a co-worker....Miss Make-up..

She seems to have a grudge against me and the other "wife" working there.I asked for help from her and the other girl in with her.They have hardly any work,I was overwhelmed with work.Was stressing me out terrible.I kept up but dang near killed myself,they laughed at me and told me their job took 5 mins then they just loafed.They wouldn't help me,don't like to scan or copy so refused to do it.So I asked the boss for help,he told me to tell them they could just take my one job(I had TWO) and between the two of them they could do it.(The EASY job of the 2)She told the receptionist that they were doing my job and making ME look good.THEN she said that the big boss emailed her and told her not to pay any attention to anything I said(that the other boss said they could have my one job) and that the only reason I was there was because of Larry and if I told her to do anything he would fire me.....My feelings were hurt big time.I couldn't believe he said that.So I asked him....He never said that....he called her in and talked to her,she denied it.I don't know what was said to her but man,has her attitude changed! She's doing the work with no arguments,staying in her office,always smiles at me...what a B*&ch! When I told him what was going on his mouth dropped open.He said OMG Deb,we get compliments all the time from PA(head office) on you...that you're the first one that does this job right!

Yes I realize that I got the job because Larry helped me get it,but I was told straight out that he helped me get it but it was up to me to keep it.And I tried my best and learned the job....going in blind with no computer skills or office skills,I worked my butt off and spent many nights at first crying because I felt so dumb.But I kept at it and dang it,I learned.

This girl is Mexican and yes...she's prejudiced...me and the other "wife" there are "the white girls",she thinks her friends should get our jobs,because we don't speak Spanish.And actually that hasn't been an issue

Ok done venting now....just bothers me a lot!

I'm glad you found out what's really going on, but keep watching your back CR. If she's a bitÂ¢7, chances are she might try something again later. Also, if her job takes only minutes to do, why is she even there? Is it because she speaks Spanish? It sounds like they don't need her full time.

rob, Thanks for the update. Glad to hear FL's eating well. If he's anything like my little one, he's so BUSY the calories don't have a chance to catch him. : ) Christian was very, very under the 'norm' until about 18 months ago (at 10 1/2 years). Then, holy moly. I couldn't buy clothes fast enough. Took him for his checkup two weeks ago and in 18 months he has gained 45 pounds and grown 5 3/4 inches; gone from a size 8 slim to 12 husky. I got to where I only bought one pair of long uniform pants at a time and washed them nightly because he grew out of them before the knees wore out (which was totally new-LOL). I betcha LF will do the same. Before you know it, you'll be standing on a stool, looking up at him, shaking your finger in his face and saying, "I don't care how big you think you are, I'm still the Mommie." : ~ )

Luckylady, I am in SE PA, zone 6. Is the foilage dark green and the big beautiful flower a gorgeous bright color? Yes, they are probably tropical hibiscus. Take 2 back, tell them you don't want them. Plant one in your yard right next to your ROse of Sharon within the next 2 weeks, they don't like the temps below 50 at night. It will grow beautiful and big and you will love it all summer, and in the fall, let it die. That way, you will only be out 14.99. NOt 14.99 three times over. Trust me, it is worth it to keep even one and truly enjoy a tropical plant in your yard over the summer. Plant it in the ground, don't pot it. Good Luck!

Through most of the year I have a landscaping business. In the early spring I help at my brothers greenhouse. Winters are very slow. This year I worked as a substitute teacher in the Rochester school system. I have never done anything like that before. I enjoyed it. I spent a week in an Emotional Behavior Disorder classroom. Wow. I spent just one day assisting a teacher in an elementary school teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). with the Mayo Clinic in Rochester they get kids from all over. Something like 75 kids in the ESOL program at this elementary school (K-5) representing 27 different countries. I had a little 2nd grader that insisted on teaching me how to write his name in Hebrew; his family moved here from Israel in November. It was a great experience this Winter. Ron

Hope everyone is having a terrific Mother's Day! My boys got me some new Williams Sonoma microplanes for my kitchen. And the hubs got me what I ask for every year - several hours of "me time." Every year I ask for him to take the boys and leave the house. Checking in on this thread is such a huge boost. Thank you all for your sweet comments! It means so much to hear the applause on a project that is so personal. MareLuce, the rack consists of 1x2 sides and shelves, and 1/4" flat stock rails on the front. You can buy the flat stock in the craft wood section at Lowe's. The whole thing is pieced together with dowels at each joint. The shelves are also just ever so slightly angled, to keep the books pitched back. You can see closeups in the tutorial here. taggie, the boulangerie sign was a TJ Maxx find years ago for just a couple of dollars. As a gf household, I do a lot of baking, though not as much bread baking as the sign might indicate. It was the only thing I kept from the old kitchen. Here's a closeup of the glass in the upper cabs. It's Clear Coral from Bendheim cabinet glass. and I used Clear Soft Wave in our liquor hutch on the other side of the room, also from Bendheim. I can't say good enough things about Bendheim. They had so many options, and shipped the glass quickly and packed really well. abfabamy, I saw a version of the knife pull-out in another gwers finished kitchen. Unfortunately I don't remember who it belonged to. Their finished kitchen was posted just as we were doing demo. It was a white kitchen and the pullout was by the sink. Ours is a 3" filler piece for the front, then a drawer box made of plywood turned on it's side with 3 overtravel drawer slides. 2 probably would have been plenty, but I wanted to make sure of a really nice , smooth motion. tmy jax, hopefully your lax weekend is less eventful than mine. DS1 took a hard check to the chest, and I spent a couple hours at the hospital yesterday. No cracked ribs, just some deep chest wall bruising. He can't breathe deep and everytime he sneezes(pollen is high right now) he just about doubles over in pain. He's still hoping to play Monday against Corning. Laxers are nuts.

They don't NEED her...she's there because the other girl in her office said she didn't know the job when the girl that used to be there quit.She's late all the time,takes days/half days off constantly...brings her kid to the office,lets him play on her work computer....all this is stuff the big boss doesn't know,but "I" know...and it's documented on camera(They have a camera on the front door) so she better lay off or I can tell him to check the cameras......I hate feeling this way but man,she makes it tough to get along with her.
I feel she should have been fired when she lied to him and said she never said what she did...but he called the receptionist and she confirmed it.No one in the office likes her much...she's an egotistical"I'm better than you" kind of person....it's "her" warehouse,so she tells everyone anyway....Now I hear she's complaining about the receptionist,she better watch her step.

Deb, it's awful when your work environment is not happy. I'm glad you went to the boss, it sounds like they know how lucky they are to have you and want to keep you. She'll dig her own grave sooner or later, but keep on your toes, sweetie. You can't trust some people, it's sad but true.

Deb, I'm sorry you've had to put up with this. I hate when you have to bend over backwards to keep the office/workplace running. Nothing pi$$e$ me off more than a smug person who thinks they have something over on you, or are arrogant. I'm glad you stood up for youself, and got to the bottom of it. Prejudice goes two ways. I like/dislike a person for what they are, and how they treat me.

I get your point about the discrimination too and it's awful.
Her job is only secure because of her race, I'm sure and that stinks.

Awww Deb, I feel for you. You did the right thing talking to the "big boss" You don't have to take any crap from anyone and just because Larry helped you get the job shouldn't matter in the least so don't let that bother you. If they didn't need help in that office they wouldn't have hired you. Take pride in the fact that the boss said you are being complimented on your good work.

I worked in one of the bank branches on a 6 month contract. One of the tellers that had worked there for a long time took a disliking to me. I was trained on how to do the job the right way but the tellers at this branch did things "the way they always did them" which wasn't the way I learned them. Everytime I asked this teller a question she would answer me then turn her back and hum "if she only had a brain" from the Wizard of Oz. What a Btch. I took it for a couple of months then got her in trouble for not following proper bank procedures - the way I learned them. She wanted me to cash a cheque for someone because "they always did it" I didn't want to do it so I went to the Manager and after further checking found the transaction was fraudulent. I was in the right and that really PO that chick off. LOL She hated me even more after that because doing the job the right way meant asking questions of her customers and not automatically doing every transaction because "they always did it".

Everyday of that contract I hated going into work at that branch. I loved working at all the other branches I worked at. After my last contract was up with another branch I was offered another contract to go back to that branch and I refused if that Btch was still there. I never renewed my contract with the bank. I didn't need the negativety.

I'm sorry Deb you have been under so much stress from your job. Just do your work as best as you can and at the end of the day leave the job at the door. Home is your sanctuary.
