Dangit! I wish I had seen this yesterday!

I was sunbathing a little yesterday (pre-tanning before we go to FL) and decided I better shave my legs. I wish I hadn't, I would have tried this last night. Woody could've helped me. And no, these are not my legs and feet in the demo. That big toe is obviously not long enough. rofl Her yeti comment cracked me up, though. I can sympathize, it's been a long winter here, too, although I did shave a while back because I was going on a road trip with a GIRLFRIEND. lololol I'm sure she appreciated it, not that she ever saw my naked legs. I felt a like a girl going on a date, I must say. OK, so I'm goofy, that's already been established.

Who here waxes? Does it really get easier each time? I'm a shaver, but I'm not adverse to trying this.

I've tried a couple times to wax my legs and it HURTS! I don't want smooth legs bad enough to endure the pain so I keep shaving.

Hmmm I think I would rather buy the regular waxing stuff to use. And now that you brought it to my attention I might just do it. I did enjoy reading her directions though. *S*

When following the directions at the site you gave it says that you have to have Â½ inch of hair growth on your legs. I'm not sure I could wait for that to happen.

I do get my eyebrows waxed and it's not bad at all.

mboston, practice using that video tool and you will get the hang of it.Sometimes when they are just so fast I point and shoot.Sometimes I catch something wonderful sometimes zero.But its a nice surprize when I have captured a wonder!

Goodness!! 50??? I am having a hard time keeping up with the 18 I have, lol. (last 2 eggs hatched today) apparently, every single egg I found was also fertile, and they all seem to be thriving so far. I am so glad all of these eggs hatched at almost the same time, I think it will be easier since they will all be so close in age, and hopefully size. The other 8 cats I have, are at all different stages, and I have had to move/separate them so many times it is ridiculous, some of them seem to be bullies, lol. The largest one of the last bunch is now in a "habitat" by himself, because he would not stop picking on the smaller cats and taking their food, and they weren't that much smaller than him. I have one small one who bullies cats WAY larger than him, lol, I had to move him after I saw him slither up to one of the big cats and try to bite them, or at least that is what it looked like he was doing. I have figured out how to tell if I need to give them more food, they "wander" when they want new, or more leaves, or at least these do, because every time i have had one wander away from the food, if i put new food down, they come back. The largest one will start eating the leaves before I even set them down in his cage, lol, he bites them and starts tugging on them. I am hoping everything works out for all of them, and that they all keep eating and growing, so far so good though. And as far as the food situation, the lady who lives next door to my aunt, does have a safe host tree, yayy!! So I am going tomorrow to cut some more leaves for them, and my safe dwarf tree is getting new sprouts of leaves in several places, so they should be big enough to cut soon, so it all seems to be working out in their favor so far! I too am interested to see when these two that pupated decide to eclose. The 1st one pupated on sep 18, second one on sep 23, I was able to move them into the reptarium cage I bought without harming them or disturbing them, so I am not so worried about them eclosing when I am not home now that they are in the mesh cage. what have the temps been lately in your area? The high was 95 here today. Supposed to get cooler this weekend though. Was it you who said you had a GST chrysalis turn black before eclosing? I have been checking them for any signs of change, but they haven't changed one bit.

I've had my mint plant for about a month or two. It thrived when I first had it, grew like crazy. It needed water very often, almost daily. We had some hot days for about a week. I'd water my mint in the morning before I went to work, but by the time I got home from work (I work 10 hour shifts), it would be limp, laying on the windowsill with all the leaves curled under. I had to put the pot in a bowl of water and let it water itself from the bottom; that was the only way I could get enough water into it and not have it looking like it was dead when I got home from work. After watering it like this for about a week, I noticed the roots were growing out of the bottom of the pot about 4 or 5 inches! The roots at the tips were black, which I believe was rot. I cut off the black roots and put in a bigger pot. Is it possible to have too big of a pot with mint? When I originally got the plant, the roots were growing out of the bottom of the small pot, so I repotted it and it was only about 2 weeks later the roots were growing out of the pot again, so I repotted it into a pot 3 times its' size. Was this wrong? I've heard mint is a deep rooter, so I wanted to give the plant plenty of room to grow. Problem is, now a lot of the leaves are turning yellow and withering. Was it wrong to sit the pot in a bowl of water and let it water itself? Could that be what made the roots rot and grow out of the pot? It seemed to be doing well when I had it in the bowl of water, but I wonder because then the roots rotted. Thanks for any help you can give me! Oh, it also seems to thrive in sunshine, but I've heard others say it needs shade. I'm guessing all plants are different? It only gets bright sunshine for a few hours a day, then medium to low light.

I remember this blog! The ideas were cool, but she repeatedly talked about how in debt she was, which I couldn't get over (but I'm a banker's daughter, so I realize I'm not the norm about that). You could buy it, paint it, then sell it on Craigslist for a few hundred.

I remember once buying Nair, applied it to my legs and it burnred! The leg hair did melt away, but my legs stayed pink and looking like a sunburn for about a week, when it was (supposedly) time to re-apply the Nair. No way, I went back to regular shaving.

I am not a waxer, but my daughter bought 'Nair Shower Power' hair removal cream and was really impressed with how it worked.
I remember trying Nair way back when (was it pink?) and it didn't work worth crap, took some hair off but not all.
Might give this new Nair stuff a try though.

About 20 years ago, I bought a Hot Wax Machine. Heated the wax and applied a lather about 2" x 6" on my leg. When I pulled off the wax my skin came with it. It was extremely painful as you may guess.

I've tried the cremes, I don't have the patients for that. You still miss hairs and have to shave again. It can also cause a rash.

If you Tan you can't do the laser treatments.

The plain triple edge Gillette w Lady's Shaving Creme works nice. I use baby oil sometimes instead of Shaving Creme. Just gets the tub yucky.

My Daughter tried Sugar and it didn't work.

I tried this method a couple of years ago. I didn't think it was great at removing all the hair so I went back to my razor, plus the razor is a lot easier, faster and less messy. Hope it works for you though.

For one thing I could never let the hair on my legs get that long! As I have gotten older I don't have to shave my legs as often as I once did but I can't stand it when it starts to rub the bed sheets.I have been known to get up at 2 in the morning and shave my legs because of it.LOL Waxing would just take too long in my opinion.The few times I have used hair removal products on my legs there were hairs left that I had to shave anyway.I can shave my legs a lot faster and with a lot less mess.I found a hair removal product from HSN that I have used on my face and arms.It is Serious Skin Care Liquid Laser.There is a formula that is for the face.I love this product.My face is sensitive to a lot of cosmetics but this works great with no irritation.It sounds a little pricey but it is well worth it.You can go to HSN and type in Serious Skin Care products and find it.

I use an epillator. It hurts when you first start using it, but then it doesn't any more. You just feel a little pull. I use it every day, but it doesn't take long.

I tried the sugaring. It worked pretty well & didn't take any skin when I pulled the strip off, but it REALLY HURT. That area of my leg was red & tender for several days. I went back to shaving.
