gardenamy--on some reviews of the faucet the only negative thing I read was that the faucet had a slight wiggle. I don't believe the wiggle actually bothered jscout but when I contacted him and asked about if he experienced it, he said he did but really hadn't thought about it. He sent an email to the company and this was their response:

"Your KPF-1602 body is wobbling from the base of the faucet where the handle is located from your description. If that is the case, there is a decorative cap behind the base of the faucet where the body meets. Remove the cap and tighten the set screw with an alley key. This should alleviate the problem."

He corrected it without any problem.

I don't know how I missed this thread, but I saw this last night and checked my hose. It is showing some yellow, but only on the half facing the window. What's interesting is my window is a newer low-e UV window and nothing else has yellowed over the last few years. I e-mailed Kraus about this today and they are sending me a replacement hose under warranty. I don't know if the new hose will solve the problem permanently or just yellow again a few months down the road. But they were at least very responsive. I'll report back when I get the replacement.

Jscout - how old is your faucet?

I have the Kraus also (just a few months old), but had the same exact wiggle. The install instructions say nothing about tightening this set screw, but when I called Kraus, the very helpful guy there said they send them from the factory a little loose so as not to get damaged. We already had the faucet installed and had to loosen everything so we could pivot the faucet base around to find the set screw. My kit also had two Allen wrenches, but neither one fit the set screw. So we had to buy a 3 mm to tighten it up. It's quite a simple process, I just wish they told you to do that when you are assembling the faucet. No yellowing of the hose yet, but it's only been a few months and my window faces east without a lot of strong light.

I bought my faucet last July and had it installed last October. My window faces SE, so it gets lots of sunlight. Something I am thinking about is maybe taking the replacement hose to a plumbing supplier and see if maybe I can get a chrome one or even a real braided hose. I think the Kraus one only looks braided with a braided print underneath the vinyl or whatever type of plastic it is.

Is this that tall water-spritzing Kraus semi-pro style faucet? I think it's not lead-compliant so I nixed it for us. I wonder if other parts are less-quality as well?

Just an update. I received a new hose in the mail on Friday. It looks like the same hose. On closer inspection, it looks like the hose does have real metal braiding and is just sheathed in vinyl. At this point, I'm a little skeptical that the new hose won't yellow again. I'm going to contact customer service and ask about the new hose. I'm also going to get a clarification of the warranty on this faucet. It says a limited lifetime warranty, so I need to find out of I just need to contact them whenever the hose turns yellow to get a new one. I think that would be a pain in the arse. But then again, that's one way to keep it looking "like new."

Another update. I contacted Kraus today regarding the new hose and the "Limited Lifetime Warranty." The customer service rep advised me that this faucet is indeed covered by the warranty. As long as I own it, I can contact them with any issue, including replacing the hose again in the future. I guess the caveat is that they have to remain in business.

Well...as long as they keep replacing the yellowing hose, you should be all set. We just tossed ours out. I don't feel like dealing with warranty service or replacing a hose once a year.

I hope the new one lasts longer for you.
