Yes, I have foot pain most the time. I had the plantar fasciitis for over a year, which I think I'm over it.
I have corns & callouses most the time. When I was working I had constant pain, its ok now but still flairs up when I get new shoes.

I have that pain on the top of my foot, and the doctor told me it was arthritis. I have to be so careful about how tightly I tie the shoe on that foot, but if I tie it loosely, the shoe is too loose. If I put a thin pad on top of the foot under the sock, it puts less pressure there and works well.

Sorry about all your trouble. Sounds like you may have several things going on. It might be worth a trip to the doctor because maybe s/he can suggest something which would help like orthotics. At least you would like some explanation of what is causing all the pain.

The foot that feels like you have a wad of cotton at the base of the 3rd and 4th toe sounds like it could possibly be Morton's Neuroma. I had that last year and it is so painful, it felt like I was walking on a marble. I got a couple of shots in it and went for physical therapy and it's almost back to normal. The Podiatrist also put some inserts in my shoes that give the arches of my feet more support and that helped a lot. I switch them between shoes. It's a good idea to get those problems checked out soon as possible, unlike me who thought it would go away with time..

I have foot pain, it often feels like the bones are slipping out of place. I think my problem is arthritis and the bones are moving out of the joint. Stretching brings it on in my toes and laying my foot on it's side at night makes my arch feel the same way. Luckily moving my foot stops the pain.

Wow, I guess I'm not the only one with foot pain. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing...misery loves company? Pain is pain and that is a pain for all of us.

I thought that some of the pain I was having was caused by the comforter on our bed. Ours is a king sized bed and our winter comforter is 110" x 96" and heavy. I like to sleep on my back which means this heavy weight is on my feet all night, bending them in ways that can cause strain. But the pain I have on the top and outside of my left foot really does feel more like Arthritis. The pain under my toes on my right foot just feels like I have something in my shoe that should not be there. It could indeed have all started by the heavy comforter which caused my left foot to hurt which caused me to favor it which put more stress on my right causing the pain I now feel in it. There...who needs a Dr.? I guess I do, better to get it checked out.

I had a feeling like there was a lump on my foot under the toes. There was also a very light sharp pain like a splinter was there. I bought some pads and realized later that they were medicated and after a few days no need for the pads any more.

I, too, have the pain on top of my foot. Never had it checked out. I think it's arthritis, also. It comes and goes. I can be walking and playing golf and all is well for most of the time and then, out of nowhere, the foot starts to hurt. It's fun getting old isn't it.

My husband did and still does, the doctor told him it was neurothrophy, I know I didn't spell it correctly.

I had the same thing. and was referred to the podiatrist. She said it was Sinus Tarsi Syndrome. She started with the steroid shots, that didn't work. Then it was 6 weeks in the boot.
Nothing worked and her finaly treatment option was "use the boot as needed". It's been a year and it doesn't seem to be any different.

Yes....terrible pain and I have a high pain tolerance.

Mine runs in the middle of my foot from underneath around the inside and up over the inner top part. Can't go without shoes and can't stand to wear any either. I usually cushion them with my Crocks. They are my only hope. My reg. doctor gave me the name of a foot doctor to go see. But I've always heard "Don't" go to him. So I'm looking for one on my own.

Do you have diabetes? Could be diabetic neuropathy if so. Or peripheral vascular disease?

Pattico, for a short time I had to wear shoes because it felt like my bones were pulling apart. I don't have that problem any more. My feet have gone through very strange phases, I haven't been diagnosed but I know it is arthritis. My Mom and 2 of my sisters have arthritis in different places and different extremes.

both of my feet feel better today but I still feel like I am walking with a wad of cotton under the 4th toe on my right foot. Not as bad as it was this past weekend.

georgesmom, the pain on the top of my left foot that feels like Arthritis comes and goes also. I can be fine when I get up but the pain will start without warning. If I take Ibuprofin or the like, it will feel better to the point of not being a problem. But some mornings I can wake up and not walk because of the pain. Like yours, it comes and goes.

pattico, I have a high tolerance for pain also. I can take a lot, but when I can not walk because of pain it is just so inconvenient. We women can put up with just about anything and still accomplish what we need to during our days, but pain that stops you in your tracks is something else and oh so anoying.

sleeperblues, I do not have diabtets and I am almost sure I do not have peripheral vascular disease. I had thought of reasons other than strain or Arthritis which is why I will try to get in to see the Dr. Apps are not easy to get around here so I better start that process now.

There isn't anything that hurts worse then feet when you want to get up and do something.. I went through a time when it was unbearable. I did everything to get relief.. Nothing worked. I finally broke down and bought a pair of Birkenstock shoes. They are expensive but well worth it. It takes a while to break them in but when you do they feel so good. I don't wear anything else. Just a note about them. They are all leather and you can't wear them for a long period of time at first. You will have sore feet.. The leather is real hard at first and the sole is as hard as rocks.. Good shoes was the answer for me..

Good shoes and comfy slippers work for me. I also have arthritis in my feet. I'm lucky it's not constant but most of the time. Birks (even fake ones) worked well for me. I want to get the real ones in the next couple of weeks.

Cookie8, you will love the Birks. One thing I want to tell you is they have different type soles. I would stay away from the soft ones if you can. Be sure to read the sole info. You will love them..

Would it have been a good idea to have put a pillow in the bed or something else to raise the comforter off of your feet while you had those heavy coverings in winter?

I was using an old sleeping bag with its puffy fill, which needed only minor supplementary warmth-inducing cover through a good part of the winter. While I keep my house in the low 60s, temperature-wise, I didn't feel overburdened by blankets.

ole joyful, so nice to see your input and your very good idea. We still have our winter comforter on our bed and we will need it at least through the end of May. Cape Cod is a beautiful place to live but it is cold, wet and raw well into May and sometimes even June. I had thought of trying to find something that would act as a spacer between my feet and the comforter but I had not thought of using pillows. Good idea and one that I will try tonight, thank you.

susie53, I hear ya sista. We women think we can do anything through the pain. I think that is why this foot pain has me asking for help. Back pain may also stop us in our tracks but I am lucky enough not to have that issue yet.

cookie8 & susie53, the shoe idea is a good one. I have worn Berks and I remember that I liked them. I am now wearing Dansko clogs which feel better than my crocks or my sneeks. This pain seems to do better with a solid base and not as well with a softer or squishier base. That surprised me coz I love my crocks.

I had pain in my right foot that started in August 2009 and I went to a podiatrist and I do have arthritis in my foot. She made me custom orthotics that have made a huge difference. I got lazy last summer and started going barefooted more and wearing Birkenstocks. My foot started hurting again and I went back to the doctor.

She told me to wear my shoes with the orthotics all the time. I do now and my foot doesn't hurt. I did find a brand of sandals on the internet called Drew that have a removable insole that allows me to wear my orthotics with them. They are pricy but well made and worth it.

I have /had a lot of pain in my feet the past few years,til the present.Mine is peripheral neuropathy caused by chemo and the other drugs.Sometimes they feel like i walked thru fire,then onto glass shards.Other times it feels as though i have marbles in my shoes,and my feet are always freezing.The tops feel like they have rug burns on them.
My dr's finally found a medicine that helps some,and/or makes it tolerable,at least for now, and i wear crocs all the time.They are ugly,but comfy.

I do and my toes get numb ,mine is from dialysis but could also be a sign of a diabetic.I get pain,feels like electric shock.Its something with the nerves in the feet
