Maybe they're better now,but we had one yrs ago on our camper.For about 3 days. It didn't close behind us,we had to close all the magnets.Was a pain in the butt. This type of screen door has been around for yrs.

the one I used was on someone elses house to the patio and it did not work as seen on tv!!it rarely ever magically snapped closed as it does in the infomercial. I am sure there is more than one brand and I have no idea what they had but it was really not worth it.
the one I saw was also loose at the bottom so it let bugs in through that gaping bottom edge. I guess it would be better than nothing at all and a wide open door.

what's broken on the screen door? Wouldn't the money be better spent fixing or replacing that? You could probably build a wooden screen door (there's not much material in them, and little work) for only a little more than some TV gizmo costs.

I made my own using a length of vinyl screen attached to a 1" x 2". I put cup hooks over the door on the outside and 2 eye hooks on the wood piece. Stapled the screen to the 1" x 2" after rolling it over it twice. Sewed some fabric to the bottom to give it a more finished look and added some magnets into the hem. They would stick to the metal door, though and eventually tore out.

Ours isn't split in the middle, just a solid piece that we have to brush out of the way to get past, but it helps keep the bugs from flying in. We like to have the doors open for the cross breeze and so the dogs can go in and out on the verandah and to the back yard.

Thanks for the information..We always were amazed at how those screens just snapped together perfectly on TV...I thought it was too good to be true..

we had gone to Lowes to buy some type of screen doors to put on our house so we can leave the doors open and get a good breeze going, but of course we have giant mutant mosquitoes here so it has to be something well built. we ended up getting some very nice all metal security doors that we love, they are black metal and match the black wrought iron that is on our fence and lights. They were actually cheaper than the regular glass and screen type doors.This is exactly like it but we got it in black, the screen is a very heavy steel mesh not like regular screen you can not cut this with a blade. We added a dead bolt and doorknob that is keyed the same as our doors so we now have added layer of protection on both front and back doors.

My husband had no problem installing them, we even added the self close arm like storm doors have and it also lets us lock it in open position for hauling in groceries.

Waste of money! NEVER catches the matching magnet. And when it is attached, you CANNOT just walk through it...you need a hand to release at least ONE. They also rip easily. (Neighbor has one...or I should say HAD one...they took it down.)

My neighbor bought one, used it a week and put it in the trash - didn't work for them.

I bought the product on TV a month ago and it has worked REALLY WELL for me and my family. It took about 20 minutes for me to set it up but once I did we absolutely love how it works with the magnets. My wife loves it because she doesn't have to let the dog out, the dog uses it as a pet door. It has been a beautiful spring and we have enhoyed the fresh air with no bugs. We are going to buy another for our door to our garage. I was a little skeptical at first but have seen great results over the last month and the Magic Mesh is still going strong.

I have had a couple of them. In the Iowa summers the tape comes loose and the screen falls off.

I bought two and then sent them back. The magnets came separate from the screen and you had to measure and place on the screens too daunting a task for me. Ifthey had come fully assembled I would have kept them.. As it is BigBoy the big black cat who comes here to eat learned how to open the regular screen door with his paw just enough for his fat body to squeeze thru.

at least you an get one at wal mart, and not pay postage, and return...think it about $15...

I have had one for many years...it is far from a perfect answer to the problem of going in and out of a sliding screen. Mine was moer expensive, still works, but we do not have a severe bug problem for an extended time, and the dog can let herself out and in. Does it snap shut always????No. But the area left open is much smaller than the whole door being open 12 inches. I love it when hands are full. I don't have "high expectations" about it, so it has served me just fine.
