What do the handles on your appliances look like? curved or straight?

I like the straight one best, but if you have KA appliances (which have curved handles), the curved ones might play off that nicely.

I like both pulls but when I see the door style, I see either one looking a little busy or crowded. I think a discrete knob may work better, especially on the smaller drawers like the one shown, letting the woodwork be the star.

Straight ones especially since the lines and details on your cabinets are so angular

I always like straighter, cleaner lines so I prefer the second ones. My fridge will be KA, but I hate the handles. I wish I could get their straight pro-style handles on it. Oh well. I definitely do not want to highlight that curve.

The problem is I like the knobs that match the curved handles better than the knobs that match the straight one.

We have a KA fridge and dishwasher, but oven will (most likely) be GE.

I was going to get a dynasty recessed panel door, but I brought it to the showroom to check it out with the hardware I want, and there wasn't enough clearance with the recessed drawer front. I like the hardware so much, I actually changed the door style to raised panel.
The curved handle in the picture looks like it would provide more clearance than the straight - have you had your hands on the door and hardware together to make sure it would work? I'm also the last person to be doling out decorating advice, but to my very untrained eye the door style looks more traditional (it is a lovely door); the handles read more contemporary? Good luck!

I think the straight pulls look good with the curved knobs. With the same finish and the same rectangular base they flow together.

Hi Saw, I like both pulls a lot. But like Wolfgang, I don't think that either one is perfect for your cabinets. You have traditional cabinets with prominent molding. I would pick something very plain and traditional to let the cabinets shine. Both of your choices -- although great looking hardware -- read more contemporary (in some ways -- but note that I've seen handles like your squarish one in some very traditional Christopher Peacock-style kitchens). Or, have you perhaps selected these two pulls styles because you want to tweak your kitchen in a more transitional or modern direction?

Can you show me some plain and traditional ones?

I just picked what I like. Our house is fairly traditional but I'm not terrified of mixing some finishes, if they work well.

I don't have the hardware or door handy, but if I narrow it down to 1-2 types, I'll order the handles and put them up against the door.

Dear Saw, I hadn't looked at all your kitchen photos when I made my earlier comment. Now that I have, I see better what look you are going for and I think that both of the pulls and knobs you've picked will probably work fine.

There are a number of kitchens on the Finished Kitchen Blog with similar Omega cabinets to yours. I'd check out the kind of hardware they use for inspiration.

Be sure to check out Buehl's lovely kitchen at this link below. I believe she has very similar Omega cabinets to yours. She has selected a more traditional "birdcage" design pull that seems to be a popular choice for traditional kitchens.

the first handle you show...and the second knob are better...the molding on the door has rounded returns-not 90 degrees as in shaker..this door style shows well with the bird cage type knobs or that kind of cylindrical approach. keep looking if you can muster the will.

Cabinets appear to be more traditional and the straight handle a little on the contemporary side. Not saying you can't mix the styles. Have you actually tried the straight handles when attached to something? I'd be checking the clearance to make sure you can get your fingers in there comfortably. I do like the curved knobs - those are cool.

My plan is to order one knob and pull that I choose and see if it works with the door. Then if it doesn't go again from there.

Have you been on one of those hardware websites like myknobs.com? You can put in your criteria on the left - such as size, finish, price range, theme to narrow your search.

I definitely vote for straight, though I am biased b/c they are the same pulls I chose (poor quality pictures attached). My door style has a slight rounded bevel that I wanted to downplay - I prefer straight lines / angles.

Though your door does have a rounded edge, I think the straight pulls will work very well with all of the angled corners you have in your new plan. I also think I would do all pulls or combo pulls / knobs not just knobs. Your old kitchen had rounded pulls, so I would want to do a completely new/different llok. Finally, you said you like the straight better, go with what you like.

I like the straight door hardware although I think they have a transitional to contemporary look to them and the doors are more traditional. I would make sure that the handles are going to fit on the door properly. It almost appears that the face of the door has a slight curve to it. Probably just the way the picture looks. The knobs with the pyramid shape looks more contemporary to me as well.

We just ordered the first ones. I like both, but couldn't sell my husband on the straight ones. (We had quite the battle on this!) In reading the previous posts it seems like we made a good choice as our refrigerator handles are curved like that.

My first thought was the straight ones have sharper edges and might hurt if bumped into.
I think both have clean lines, which I tend to like, so they are even in that category to me.
I am guessing the curved are easier to use and project a little more.
I definitely like the 2nd knob better than the first.
I think if you do the pulls vertically, I'd want the curved ones. If you go more modern and do them horizontally, I'd do the straight ones. In either case, I'd use the 2nd knob for the drawers if you have any narrow drawers in the mix. You'd need wide drawers to pull off either pull on the drawers with your cab style.
If I had only the 2 pulls to choose from, I'd go with the curved, but I am not entirely convinced they go with your cabs. I'd have to see them in place to know for sure.
The cabs and hardware are all nice, it is just about whether they work as a combo.

They are from restoration hardware so mucho dinero. I don't think I want to spend that much money. What's the concensus on this option? And anyone have a cheaper version of this that looks nice?

the hardware hut (online) has a large selection of pulls. I just ordered some pulls from them and they arrived very quickly and very well packaged - pulls are great. They carry a large selection of brands - some more affordable (but still good quality from what I can tell) and others very high end brands. Good luck.

I like the first pull (seems softer to me).... but also like your absolute favorite ones...

In working with a recessed drawer, I would go the the pull with the most depth. You want to be able to slide your hand in without nicking the molding with your fingertips. I also like deep pulls since prevent hand oils from getting on your cabinets.
