I bought the Awesome spray bottle at Dollar Tree because of KT recommendations.

Interested to see what you people use it for!

I use it for everything! I used it to clean the fabric seats in my truck after my husband drove it for awhile back and forth to the shrimp boat and got them filthy.

please tell me about your use of gaura...

I have 1/2 a dozen good-sized clumps of Gaura Whirling Butterflies. (I originally started out with 2 plants.) WB is white with pink accents and get 3-4 ft high and arches over other plants. It is supposed to be a dwarfer version than the species ones, which may very well get 8 ft. WB start blooming pretty late for me and just about everything has had its first big flush before they start. There is still some bloom today! Mine are planted with daylilies (mostly in the pink range)& hardy lilies (whites, pinks, and whites with pink/red markings - I always plant Asian with later varieties in the same color range), purple coneflowers & various phlox in colors from white to pink to red, backed by foxgloves (in a bit more shade)followed by asters and mums. The small flowers are a good contrast with the larger blossoms of daylilies and hardy lilies, and the heavier looking coneflowers, phlox and foxgloves. They also add movement to the other stiffer flowers. WB will overlap the daylilies some (esp. reblooming ones) follow the Asian lilies, but surround & soften their stalks, be in partial bloom with some of the coneflowers (I have 3 kinds) be in full bloom with oriental lilies and finish with the asters and mums. It's a great plant and works well with lots of things. It can also handle some of the dampness that is liked by some of the other plants I mentioned even though it is taprooted and quite drought tolerant. Enjoy! P.S. Despite what I have read about Gaurga being hard to move or split, I have had no problems at all.

Show me your hex-tile floors and tell me your grout color please!

Hi Bill, I have seen mention of this Mapei on other threads and did a google search and came up with a lot of foreign-language links. Who makes it? Or better yet, can you give me a link to a website? (Also, I sent you an email - did you get it? I noticed another tile installation disaster today. Our Master Bath floor has been covered for protection until today when part of it was exposed while the double vanity was installed. The large 16" square honed Calcutta Gold tiles are not centered on any of the walls, so there are really off grout lines at the center of the vanity. It is really obvious and when I think about it I literally want to cry :( . This is our forever house and everywhere I turn, a tile job is done badly. I could really use a good referal!)

Tell me what size subway or field tile you used for your BS

Very timely thread for me. I'm trying to decide on which size subway tile as well. To mix things up I'm considering a narrower and longer size (2 3/8 x 7/12) or a wider and longer size (4x8 or 4x12). Is there any design guidance on how to decide between one size or the other? For example (I don't know, I'm making this up) the smaller, longer tiles look great in modern kitchens or the wider, longer tiles look best in kitchens with no uppers. Can those who picked subway tile backsplashes explain why they picked the size they did?

I'm not sure of the exact terms you should be looking for. But you can ask if the stain and finish are done in the same step. Older or more quality furniture is stained and then a finish is applied in a separate step. So the finish can get scratched, but the scratches aren't as noticeable. Lots of modern furniture gets finished with a product that has both the stain and the finish in it. Scratch the finish; scratch the stain. So scratches show up in the wood's natural color. Or, the finish coat is very, very thin, and the finish itself isn't very durable, so scratches easily get down past the stain layer and show up easily. Different finishes have different qualities. You have to consider your needs and what will be happening to the furniture. Are you more concerned with scratches or water rings, for example. I've linked to a chart that shows many common finishes and their pros and cons. Here is a link that might be useful: furniture finishes

I do not dilute mine use it right from the spray bottle, I have the regular one and also their kitchen spray. I use it for anything I would need a cleaner for. It does a good job on greasy stuff in the kitchen.

No, I don't dilute it. I spray it on and wipe off with a damp sponge or cloth.

My DD had put some of those gelatinous window decorations on her patio door for Easter. But when I went up last week, the decorations were gone and the windows looked awful. I tried various cleaners and finally decided to try the Awesome concentrate. It took the goo right off.

I spray it on clothes stains, use it to clean up kitchen messes..especially grease type messes, takes fingerprints off switches easily, pretty much anything that needs to be cleaned. I dilute it when I clean my plantation shutters but use it full strength when cleaning the outdoor furniture.

I moisten a microfiber cloth with water, wring it out and then pour on some Awesome....I heat the cloth in the microwave for about 30 or so seconds and then wipe down my kitchen cabinets.
I wear rubber gloves.
It does a great job and is quick.

I used yesterday to clean the filter on my down draft cooktop. Oy! I wish I had take before and after pics!
It was (embarassingly) caked with greasy gunk.

I sprayed both sides and let it sit. Went back about an hour later, rinsed and sprayed again. The took a brush and gently scrubbed. (it is a soft aluminum screen)
It looks almost brand new!

I also used on my black glass cooktop. It took off all the old cloudy rings I thought were there forever.

THEN...I cleaned the refrigerator. Probably didn't need to use AWESOME, but I did and it worked well.

I am one happy (and tired) girl!

Next up...using on the grill.

Have they gotten rid of the awful strong odor in it? I had a bottle years ago and had to get rid of it. I couldn't breathe with the strong fumes from it.
