I was at Penzeys Spices last week and picked up a delectable looking recipe. We're going to have Ham and Asparagus bake (an egg type casserole) after church. Probably also have a fresh fruit salad.

We are doing something a bit different this year. A cookout. So far we plan to have rib eye steak, chicken, and also a ham, since I have a ham. Will add baked beans, cheese potatoes, broccoli, corn, peas, sweet potatoes, since I still have some from the garden, deviled eggs, cucumbers, coleslaw, radishes, Chocolate Whoopie pies, white cake, Soda Cracker Pudding and slushy punch. I am sure there will other things added. I will fix a lot of the food and we will have it at Amber and Mike's after church, probably around one. You All Come!

It will be just Hubs and I, but I'll cook a ham with the pineapple & cherry garnish, aug potatoes, some kind of vegies, deviled eggs and st. berry short cake.

It is Kalie's 25th BD the day before Easter, so I told her to let me know what she wants for the meal.

So far, ham, mashed potatoes, green beans with bacon, (Jackson will get his first real mashed potatoes and fresh mashed green beans), Cottage cheese Jell-0 salad, garlic pull apart bread, probably some asparagus and another salad too. She wants chocolate, of some sort, for dessert...but hasn't told me what yet. I have an angel food cake with pineapple recipe that looks good too.

I will have to keep an eye on this thread for some more ideas.

Not sure if DD and family is going to make it, but either way we're having ham, scalloped potatoes, asparagus or green beans, fried apples, pickled pineapple (recipe posted by SandieFL on the "I'll Share My Recipe" thread today), yeast rolls and strawberry pie.

We're planning to bar b Q chicken but it may rain all day so I'll have to figure out something to do with the chicken in the oven if DH doesn't want to grill in the rain!

We are hosting an egg hunt/egg coloring event on Saturday. Menu includes (so far) - ham, lobster mac & cheese, pineapple dressing, broccoli and homemade applesauce. I am thinking about adding a potato dish - either scalloped or mashed. For dessert - lemon/raspberry cake.

No dinner on Sunday -

I don't know what we will have because we will in Charleston over Easter.

I do have a couple of questions. Sue, could you post the recipe for soda cracker pudding? Sandy, how about the pull apart garlic bread?

Amish Soda Cracker Pudding Recipe

18 soda crackers
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup butter
2 Tbls. peanut butter
3 cups milk
2 eggs
2 Tbls. cornstarch
1 cup white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup coconut

Directions:

Melt butter and penut butter. Add to brown sugar and the cracker crumbs and mix well. Place in pan, pressing crumbs to sides and bottom. Reserve 1/4 of the crumbs for topping.

In a sauce pan, combine milk, eggs, cornstarch and white sugar and boil over medium heat until thickened. Add vanilla and coconut. Pour slowly over crumbs and refrigerate. When cool, sprinkle remaining crumbs over top.

Having our dinner Saturday night since I work 13 hours on Sundays! Small ham and turkey breast (Kentucky Legend brand), scalloped potatoes, baby carrots, dinner rolls, deviled eggs, strawberry pie, and maybe banana cream pie. I might have another vegetable also. Invited my boss for dinner and will invite a few more to come.

Garlic Pull Apart Bread

Frozen dinner rolls dough thawed, cut into 4. Arrange in a bundt pan. Melt a stick of butter add good garlic powder and minced garlic.
Place a row of biscuts in pan, pouring a bit of the butter mixture (make sure you keep it mixed) over the layer...continue the layers. Let raise and bake according to package...or keep an eye on them.

We're leaving the traditional meal and doing a cookout too! I've already invited my Mother-in-Law and SHE is the only reason I care about doing anything at all. My husband never let his Mom spend a holiday alone..and I have continued that tradition and will as long as I'm able! Haven't really decided what meats son will be grilling...but if he's cooking it, I know it'll be good!!

That sounds like a funny name, but it brings back memories. My Mom always made Raisin Sauce to go with ham. I LOVE it but DH refuses to eat anything with raisins. I think I will add that to my menu! Thank you Bulldinkie, for mentioning it.

We will have:
Romaine salad with strawberries and fetta
Ham - baked
crashed potatoes
fresh green beans
carrots - cooked
macaroni and cheese
a jello salad
stuffed eggs
dinner rolls
raisin sauce
fudge pie with icecream and fudge sauce
lemon cake roll

A lot of these can be prepared or partially prepared the day before.

We are gathering at DDs house, and will have ham, au gratin potatoes, green beans almondine, bunny shaped yeast rolls, and lavender cupcakes. Starting the evening with wine and crudities.
