Thanks for the reply. Since the glass would be only the cover for the table, I presumed that a thickness of 1/8" would be sufficient. It was polished edges though I would consider beveled if those are cheaper. I don't understand the curved vs. straight cut. If the table top is round, doesn't that necessitate a curved cut? The price did not include either coming out to pattern or delivery.

Yes they can and possibly bevel the edges depending on the thickness of the glass

I used clear ones and for some reason when I removed the glass after quite awhile mind you, they had caused the wood where they rested to look lighter. I later was told that those rubber discs have some sort of acid in them that damages wood, especially if the wood is near a sunny window. Mine was not near a window however. I put the glass on the top of the table to protect it from my kids hoping that one day I could remove it, but now there are a number of strange looking spots.

You could do a glass top with some spacers, between the glass and leather, so the leather can breathe. I'm in a high cost of living area and just had 3 glass tops made, using the more expensive low iron starfire glass (no green tint) and I didn't think it was a bad price, considering it will protect the furniture for a long time. The tops were 21" x 64", 20" x 23" and 20" x 25. I paid $259 without tax. I think the regular glass would have been about half the price.
