What do you think about glass tables?
Comments (7)I have a glass dining rom table as well as a coffe table. It takes up much less visual space than dark wood, making your room feel more open. I keep a table cloth on my dining room table when not using it for parties. It keeps the dist off and keeps the table clean. I did not do that for years and cleaning it was not an issue. Now I have two cats that like to walk on it and the cloth keeps the cleaning to a minimum. You do have to clean both sides of the glass. Table glass is usually pretty thick and breakage has never bene an issue for me....See MoreDo you have glass over your wood kitchen table?
Comments (8)I used to have a wood table and had a piece of glass cut to fit. It was care free and best of all, when I used my expensive table clothes underneath they stayed clean and stain free. Even with 3 kids! I replaced my table with a gorgeous inch thick glass on cast stone pedestal. It looks smudgy most of the time, but beautiful right after it's windexed which must be done several times a day. So I keep a table cloth,(which gets dirty easily since it's on top of the glass) on it and now you can't see how lovely it is.......... loved the glass on wood treatment!...See Moretable top plexi glass, what to do??
Comments (7)If you'd like to paint some of your suncatchers Gallery Glass works great on plexi and will become permanent. I also use small cut plexi shapes for Christmas ornaments and etch them or paint them either with Gallery Glass, regular acrylics, or acrylic enamels. Whichever you choose to do here are some links to some of my favorite free stained glass pattern sites that are great for painting, etching, and carving into plexi, wood, or glass using your dremel...I love my Dremels! http://chantal-stainedglasspatterns.com/1suncatcher1.html http://www.stainedglass.on.ca/free%20pattern.htm http://www.panedexpressions.com/free-stained-glass-patterns-archive.html http://www.glasspainting.co.uk/ http://www.warner-criv.com/patterns.aspx http://www.colebrothers.com/pattsell/ http://www.glassartpatterns.com/free-stained-glass-projects9.asp http://stainedglasspatterns.com/index.php...See MoreIslands and kitchen tables.....what do you have on top?
Comments (16)When not full of junk (i.e. mail being sorted, calendar I have not found a place to hang, my kids leftover drinks and other breakfast detritus, registration forms for new appliances, tile samples, unfinished homework, toys) it will have either flowers or a green pottery bowl with fruit or veggies that aren't refrigerated (lately tomatoes.) If the flowers are nice enough (or large) they sit on the dining room table. I go for chaos, function or complete beauty. Or you might find one or both of our two new kittens running across the island (at 9 weeks they run across every surface in the house.) Yes, I could not help myself. It seems that many GW posts include adorable pet photos, particularly cats so I thought I would chip in :) The funny part is the kittens are so fast I have taken at least 20 photos since we adopted them and this was the first one that wasn't a blur. Any yes I wiped the island down after this stunt....See Morepatty_cakes
