I guess a bargain pretty much depends on where you buy your plants. As for me I buy a lot of my plants on the LA and always check the prices of closed auctions before I bid, so I have a general idea of what the plant is going for. For instance 'Azure Violets' recently sold on the LA for $22.00 DF and $52.00 DF, and most other sites I checked out had it listed for $18 - $24.....so to me $12.60 is a bargain. Northwind Dancer is selling at Marietta Gardens for $75.00....I was outbid on the LA at $60.00, and other sites have it listed at $50 to $60 so (TO ME) getting it for less than $36 is a deal. I passed on buying 'Ginny Mitchell' there because even with the %30 off I felt the price was way too high. Again....I guess it depends on what you are looking to buy. A bargain to one person isn't always a bargain to another. Compared to the LA and some other sites I frequent I feel I got some pretty good bargains. JMHO

Hi I frequently shop WM as I MUST help with groceries and it gives me something to look at lol. The secret is to dig lol. Eventually you'll find some really great bargains as well as some unusual types but requires a constant vigil. lol Some that I've gotten there Black bat plants .7 bucks ,flowering size Maxilaria orchids 20 bucks but had 25 flowers in hanging basket. Hybrid Phaius orchids in a very unusual red and brown color. Key lime as well as a pink lemon tree .20 bucks for both. 30 bucks each for the same plants from the same co, at HD. Tree form Hibiscus at over 4 feet for 8. The trick is to know your plants ignore the labels and NEVER expect any help lol. Just recently I was actually waited upon while digging through some palms. Okay the truth is he probably thought I was shop lifting. lol I asked him some questions and he quickly disappeared lol But he did get me a price on some stuff without any threats or lugging all the way to the register. I look it as a "safari" you'll never know what you'll find and better yet I don't have to look at groceries for an hour . gary

Christie, just take some cuttings from non-blooming tips...strip off bottom leaves...dip in rooting powder and stick in a cell pack of damp potting soil. I like to place the cell packs down in a large clear plastic bag and set near a window. Don't keep them too "close" and damp. Save those big bags that big packs of paper towel come in..a little print on it won't hurt. Tie it off at the top and use the string to tie the top up to something so it won't lay down on the plants. Near a window is good, or under a good light. They root pretty fast...I did a whole bunch last year and planted them out...they are big this year. Think I did them in late May or early June. Ooops! Forgot to mention that I am talking about Salvia, May Night. LOL

Karen, she also had several large rusty wire roosters but I had no idea where I'd use them. If I run across any wooden ones I'll pick them up for you. You should have said something earlier this year when the sales were just starting. Luvs, yes the big one was only $5.00, I saw it as I was pulling up to the sale & some other ladies were walking up, I had to run to grab it and then when I saw $5 I couldn't believe it. I have priced them at Bed, Bath & Beyond & they are more like $40 to $50. This lady was moving to Florida & really cleaning out, so she just wanted it all gone! Luvs, we have shelving units in our basement, from when we did crafting but even they are overflowing now & we are going to have to add some more shelves, I have filled them all!! We have room for maybe two more units & them I'm out of space!!!! I have cleaned out most of my crafting supplies, one or two shelve still have some, so can work on them yet to make a little more room! I also buy ahead for the 6 grandchildren for birthdays, xmas & other holidays if I see a good bargain & have shelves full of easter, valentines, halloween & xmas gifts for them too! I was so excited with my treasures yesterday, can't believe you ladies don't have good sales like we do! Karen, you just have to get out there & go, no one cares if you are alone, I end up talking to people at sales all the time, many of the shoppers are alone. I used to be very shy too and feel uncomfortable to walk thru one & not buy anything, but I don't anymore, if they don't have what I'm looking for I just say, "good luck with your sale" and leave.
