A softer side to American Idol's Adam Lambert

Wow! I found an incredible audio of this year's "edgy" American Idol contestant Adam Lambert singing "Come to Me, Bend to Me" from Brigadoon.

Listen to it all the way to the end, there is a note he holds strong and steady for an amazing amount of time. And listen to the wonderful Scottish accent he uses while he sings. So pure and beautiful.

This boy has talent!

I'm an Adam Fan. I think he will become a huge hit. He is going to be a millionaire someday.

Plus, he has more of a voice than any of the Previous Winners on American Idol.

I will admit that Adam does sing well when it is a slow song. My problem with him is that he doesn't know if he wants to be an Elvis look-a-like or a member of the Rocky Horror Picture show.

Adam was incredible--Not being into 80's music (back in those days, I was raising my daughter and listening to things like "It's not Easy Being Green"; "One of these things is not like the other"--LOL), I wasn't really familiar with the song he did--but I've decided I love it. As to handing Adam the contract and closing down? Know that was asked tongue-in-cheek, but there's every possibility he won't win. He could have a bad week and lose ground. One of the others might step up and do something incredible. OR--and I really think this is a huge possibility... While the votes don't mean a lot, the show pretty much picks the person who is popular with the public, that they feel they can work with, they do use the votes as a guide to what the public is into--but I don't believe for a second that the public necessarily chooses the winner (and if you read the fast-scrolling disclaimers at the end of the show, it pretty much says they can override the public vote). Here's the thing--it's possible that the kind of person who might like Adam WON'T vote for him. He's very different, and his fans may not WANT to see him win a mainstream reality show. With the 2 exceptions of Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, some of the MOST successful Idol constants haven't been the big winners. The public knows that, and out of kindness to Adam, may choose NOT to vote him into a box that could potentially be a bad fit for him. And if his votes are low enough, the show won't consider him as the next AI. Personally, I think he'll have a much, much better career if he doesn't win. And they are really invested in Danny G, at this point--I get the feeling he's the one they really plan on winning.

Adam is a great performer who has wonderful stage presence, and can pull off different looks. He also seemed quite sweet, humble and respectful to me. And wow--those gorgeous blue eyes!!! DD and I picked Kris out of the crowd for his musical expertise back in the beginning of the finals. He's truly more talented and educated than most of the others were. I don't doubt for a second that he's going to have along career that includes writing, arranging and producing, as well as performing. He's got the skill to follow many venues in the music industry. Danny? Well, what can you say. He got in on the sympathy vote and stayed months longer than he should have because of it. It's true that everything he sang sounded the same, AND he was just awkward-looking (uncoordinated) on stage. It was so hard to enjoy watching him when he looked so uncomfortable trying to be a stage performer. Time for him to go back to leading the church choir, I think. I just don't see people actually paying for concert tickets to see him as the headliner.

Maura: Thanks for setting me straight. Don't know how I missed them performing with Queen, but I did. I'll have to check out "On Demand" for that performance. I do think Adam should make his own name for himself. He's extremely talented and he will go far solo or with his own band. I agree that Adam's career will be more successful than Chris' - which is one of the reasons why I "think" Chris won....b/c Adam is already on his way which opens a bigger door for Chris, which would have been less likely.

Adam was great, and he certainly was in the genre. He nailed last week too, outside of his genre. I must have voted 100+ times for Adam! I liked Allison too, and she's made great strides in the past few weeks. Their duet rocked. I'm not sure if experience in musical theater would be considered professional/semiprofessional if it's not in major regional shows or Broadway. A lot of Adam's past performances on YouTube seem to be from local shows/benefits/cabarets. Besides, if most of his experience is in musical theater, he may not have had the right exposure to the right people to advance a broader singing career. Isn't that what AI is about?

In addition to his wonderful voice, I love Adam's versatility. I think Adam very well knows who he is and who he wants to be. He's just showing America that he can be whoever they want. I think his ability to perform so many different types of songs and have so many looks is a great marketing tool for him.

I agree with Ann 200%...he is so versitile. I dont think it's that he doesn't know if he wants to be Elvis or the Rocky Horror picture...he intentionally plays all roles.

I think he's awesome.

Adam is a performer as well as a singer. If you search for him on YouTube you will see that he has done a lot of theater. That alone would require him to be a chameleon.

What I like about Adam is if you watch his face on AI, he never seems to sneer or indicate that anything they ask him to do (commercials, silly group performances, dancing, etc.) is beneath him, regardless of how he might actually feel. He's a class act.

Also...have you noticed how Adam always says "thank you" to the judges and everyone that compliments him? IMO, he's a very talented young man with a huge future awaiting him.

I would absolutely go see him in concert.

I agree everyone has their opinion and is certainly entitled to it, but samkaren, you almost seem bitter about him. More than just him not being appealing to you.

I've seen many photos of Adam dressed in drag, and that doesn't make me question him or his artistry any more. He's multi talented and I personally, think he will do very well.

I would definitely go to an Adam Lambert concert!

I wouldn't care if Adam's hair was purple and his boyfriend was front row center, I would be there to appreciate the incredible talent and stage presence he was blessed with.

have you also watched him sing 'is anybody listening' in the val kilmer ten commandments? it is on youtube and from about 2:40 on it gets pretty incredible.. power vocals to the max.. he is so emotional in the role his voice is almost crying.. i have to watch it everyday to get my fix. it is that video that shows me AI has not seen the best of him yet....LOVE Adam

I love Adam.
I don't know why some people think he has to fit into a cookie cutter mold of what a person should look like. He is a individual and non conformist. I have down loaded all of his ITUNES songs. I think his eyes are mesmerizing. I will join you girls for his concert.

Adam is both my and my husband's favorite since the first episode of AI this season (and in my opinion, all of the finalists have major talent).
