My mother-in-law and daughter both had and loved this plant. Being in Ontario, Canada is not often condusive to year round growing of such ornamental plants though! My mother-in-law brought her easter eggplant in off her balcony in the fall, let it sit in her apartment through the winter and let it dry right out. The pods or "eggs" remained on the plant but dried out beautifully. She now has the equivalent of about 3 packages of store bought seeds from this one plant! And mammie, in doing an online search of this plant, I noticed that the pods do come in a variety of colors!

I simply cannot tell you all how much I appreciate seeing these gorgeous blooms. I got addicted back in 1999 or 2000 when I bought a ton of bulbs from Garden.com as they were going out of business. They were the really good ones like Snow White. Then they rotted from the rain here in NJ (the "Garden State" - ha!) and I ended up with very small bulbs. They just kinda hung out for a few years because I got discouraged, but last summer I took really good care of them and it shows. With all of your "help" I'm more addicted than ever and have close to 200 bulbs (small ones included) so I'm like a runaway train now. Someday, as they bloom, I'll have spares to share (i.e., there's a whole pot of several) - just need to confirm what they are. My new Pink Floyd is just sitting there sleeping, but someday he'll wake up and smile at me. Jodi (and others whose bulbs are growing now) - Keep up with their feeding schedule and keep checking in and adding to your "long" list as you see ones you would like to order in the fall.

Hi All, It was snowing on my way home from work today: ( Spring really in at a stand still. I think we are going to jump straight into summer, lol. Laura, I had to work on Easter. I kept joking that we were scheduled to work because management decided we were the heathens. I did have a nice Good Friday though. I went to the Broadway Market with my sister-in-law and her kids. It is an old Polish tradition to go there for foods like homemade candy and baked goods, see the easter bunny, buy Polish pottery and so on. It was packed as it always is pre-Easter. It is is a strange place because the whole neighborhood is now a ghetto, but the Broadway Market is still there. I could hardly carry out all the stuff I bought! I did buy two pretty Easter planters for my relatives that were in the hospital and I stopped to see them on the way home. Maryanne, I sure hope your testing went good. I've never had to do that for a job. Though this one I did have to do a drug test. Beth, Glad to hear most of the flowers survived. The winter aconites you sent me are still blooming! They are very cheery looking. They multiply don't they? Susan, I'm glad you are getting your family into shape. I know how it is. I'm afraid to leave Gary home alone for more than 2 days, lol. I'm sure hoping your brother will be ok. My cousin had to have her brain operated on for tumors about 2 years ago now, and she is doing good, so it is possible : ) Susann, I've not bought from them. Hi everyone, snuck out of work early on Friday for the dinner party, it was very good. Everyone loved the tablescape. Unfortunately I couldn't take any pictures prior to everyone sitting down because our one of our water lines in the basement decided that Friday afternoon would be a good time to let go and flood the basement. So the start of the pary was a little chaotic. I did reset the table so I will find the camera and related gizmo's that go with it and get them posted soon. Sandi, yes I did the egg shells myself. Took a scissor & cut a small opening, dumped the yolks out, cleaned and filled it with water. It is really cute. Had to laugh at a comment, I just got done describing how I took the kids old plastic eggs and put glitter on them. Someone then proceeds to ask if I blew out those eggs. Guess there was a little bit too much wine consumed : ) Happy Monday...Heidi
