Indygardengirl--- Its pretty obvious I have a lot , where are you located. Im assuming south of me since you said up there. Do you have any good habitat for them near you , that is important and then once you get a few hummers coming you should put as many feeders out as you can and keep them filled and fresh. Right now a lot of my plants arent mature enough to flower , but some are. Lately every evening about 9 o'clock what you see in the video is what I have.

jomuir I bought this triple decker back in march at lowes not knowing if I would need to use it or if hummers would go to it. I didnt even hang this feeder till august. There is actually 3 separate feeders holding 16oz each and you can use them singly or as needed. I have a small yard as you can maybe tell by my surroundings but I do have a 10-25 hummer garden plus potted plants and a few honeysuckles. Plus maybe my central indy location helps. But when hummers do stop they cant seem to ignore the TD. As of last evening about 7pm I noticed 10 or 11 hummers sitting on the TD. The true test of knowing how many I have for that day is the period between 7-8pm. Last season at this time I was only seeing 3 or 4 hummers. Im enjoying each day that this hummer bonanza brings me. Im sure a week from now or less they will for the most part all be gone. My last sighting last season was sept 29th.

I'd be interested in hearing more about your success, including your location (state and city), as well as the environment that you have about you. I live in Northern VA., in a generally forested area, with a regional park behind me. I have a fairly large lawn, with a number of small fruit trees, and a few large pines. I'm kind of new to this business of attracting bluebirds, but on Christmas Day, I saw 2 large bluebirds on the ground under my feeder. I think they were eating the suet seeds that my neighborhood woodpecker had broken loose from the suet above. It had rained all the previous day. I have just bought some mealworms online, and am waiting for them to be delivered. I was told by a knowledgable person to put the mealworms in a flat pan, nailed to a post, about 5 ft. off the ground. I will try that. I put out a birdhouse last year, but it is under some trees, and from what I just read, as I've had no takers, maybe I need to move it. I am open to any ideas to bring back my Christmas bluebirds. One was quite large, the male, I think I am inclined to think they might like suet. I'm especially interested in hearing any sightings here in Northern VA., in the Reston area.
