Very sweet. The colors are great. I like the roman shade idea. You might want to get it lined so it stay dark in the room so they sleep in longer.

Our boys are almost 5 months old! They are SO much fun...especially now that we are getting more sleep;)

Mkrzyz- Yes, it does get much better after the newborn period. I had my hands full when my girls were newborns. My son was only 18 months old when the girls were born!

Oh, about the window treatments, make sure they are totally child safe as far as the cords go.

I saw some very pretty striped romans at Lowes & HD over the weekend while placing an order for woven wood shades for my DD's (age 3) and DS's (1 year) rooms. Take a look at Levelor and Bali. Our Lowes is currently running a 15 percent off of Levelor and HD has a 15% off Bali (go figure). Both Levelor and Bali offer blackout liners, which I like because it keeps their rooms cooler and nice and dark for naptime; also makes it easier to get them to sleep at bedtime during the summer when the think it's still daytime at 8 p.m.

Oh, the room is looking so pretty! I hope you are liking the color more now? It really looks so fresh and lovely. I vote for the pink roman shades -- but I'm not liking the idea of the stripes -- I'm not sure why. I'm thinking the gingham pink would be really pretty. I like the idea of doing a pop of color with the windows. Lucky girls to have such a lovely room!

Just a suggestion for an alternative to roman blinds after reading the above link from anele (didn't realize roman blinds had their own safety issues) :-) And I know you would get cordless wood blinds, but I think the windows need color.

Have you looked into roller blinds like the ones linked below? I think you can get blackout material on them, and I don't think they pose the safety issues of cords. I like the little valance and the bottom detail. I'm sure there are lots of other brands and designs...this is just a starting suggestion.

There are child safety locks on the windows. They can't open them.

I do like coleen's striped shades, because they are simple. However, I was under the impression that momtotwins was considering the striped shades linked below. If PBK still has these other "thin striped" shades, that coleen has, I think that's a nice compliment to momtotwins' room. But again, after reading the article above, I'm not too sure about their child safety now.

You can get cordless at Smith & Noble - that's where mine are from, but I didn't choose that upgrade. They have a really nice selection.

These are pleated, cordless shades that have an optional blackout material . . .and they come in pink.

You could get a topper, too.

I like the second shade with the big stripes. It is really cute!

Now you have me thinking about getting one for my daughter's room, although she wants her new room decorated in aqua blue!! The shades are so nice looking that I may order a white one to go under her decorative window treatment to block out the sun.

I'd be thinking Austrian shades or baloon shades to give the more feminine, softer look. You can sew them yourself (if you sew) fairly inexpensively in a cute fabric that complements the rest of the room. I think your room is darling. What fun!

RE: the HD . . .click on where it says "other options" (it says Shade with Cordless) or options/specifications. I don't see the liners, though. Maybe they are dark as-is?

I found some others . . .they are 3/4 pleat blackout shades, cordless, and come in pink. The pink may be too peach, though . A sample would be good! See the link below.
