Does a gray-green-beige neutral go with... a warm, muted gold?

I'm thinking of painting one wall Duron Tobacco Road with some other walls in view that are Valspar Barnwood (a gray-green-beige)?? Do grays go with golds?? If any of you have pictures with this combination, please show me!

OH gosh, yes. I *love* grey-green and gold. It's our bedroom color palette, actually (along with walnut/brown). DH and I think it's just unbelievably beautiful. I don't know those colors, but I wouldn't hesitate a second juxtaposing grey and gold.

I don't know those colors personally but I think it would look great. I have a similar combination in my home. My kitchen and family room open into each other and one is BM Jamesboro Gold and the other BM Sag Harbor Gray. I think the key is to make sure your gray-green-beige is on the warm side.

Hi, I have painted by house with several BM colors. I actually have Monroe Bisque, Standish White, Pittsfield Buff, and Shelburne Buff. I have low ceilings, natural oak floors, with white trim. I have furniture of all colors. Of all the colors I used Shelburne buff seems to have the least amount of green. I personally think Pittsfield Buff has a lot of gold. The color that everyone loves believe or not is Monroe Bisque. I was not sold with any of these colors until I put them up as samples. One of the reason that these colors have some green is it tends to give these colors more versatility. For me I didnt want a creamy yellow, because I didnt want my rust colored furniture to look too red.

I like both in certain circumstances. In my own home, I have beige (BM Everlasting, which I think of as a "sand" color) only in the front entry and going up the stairs. I felt I needed a neutral in the midst of the other, more colorful spaces, and gray wouldn't have worked as well with my golds, greens, etc. On our second floor, we do have Revere Pewter in the master bed/bath and a cool light gray in the little guest room. I really like both, especially since I can easily change bedding colors. I don't think I'd ever have a beige living room or kitchen (nothing wrong with it, just not my preference) but I think I could live with a nice gray in either room. I do think the gray trend is out of control, though!

If I were you, I would wait to get some of the bedding and furniture before selecting paint color. A neutral might not be the best choice especially if you are drawn to darker tones. BM Van Deusen Blue is great color, but if you are going to do a dark blue duvet or comforter, then you might not want more blue. So, these elements all have to play well together. Loads of neutrals out there. If you just want neutral pick anyone of the warm grays. But a great chandelier against that neutral wall color won't be as dramatic as if the wall was a deeper color. So, think through everything before you choose a wall color. Do some sample boards of a variety of colors and see what works best with your chandelier and bedding. Those are your main features.

Repaint muted brick red dining room neutral before selling?

I am slightly prejudiced as next week the painters are coming to do my red family room in the same color...a muted red like yours. It works in that room as does yours. My home will be going on the market soon and as a broker for 45 yrs. and now perspective buyer for a condo, I can say that a beautiful red room does not bother me. Lacquered, fire engine red walls, yes...a problem but not like your dining room. People paint to sell in soft yellows, beiges and grays but still the buyer will probably want to change that as well. So as long as there is harmony in your rooms and the muted room contributes to that, my thoughts would be to just remove the window treatment, as suggested, I cannot tell you how many places I have seen for sale where the entire residence was painted yellow to appear fresh and neutral throughout. My first thought is..OMG, I detest the color yellow and I would have to paint the entire home before moving plus list price is high because it is newly painted. Educate yourself on the competing homes in your area and price range, Then price accordingly.....it will sell if priced right. That is a bigger factor than a red room. Your dining room is beautiful.

I just used BM Stonington Gray in a bath right off of a hall painted SW Whole Wheat and it looks great. I was also worried but it works

I don't have pics to share of the bedroom yet but imagine EK Pumice (which is actually a light grey-green-tan, pretty exactly) with golden strandwoven bamboo flooring. And walnut cabinetry, and similarly-toned brown fabric headboard. Nickel and frosted glass light fixtures. The drapes and the bed fabrics, in shades of gold and very light grey-green (I also have some bluish-grey sheets that look *so great* against the green-grey duvet and brown headboard...you wouldn't expect it, but they all kind of glow when they're next to each other) make it all work together.

I don't have a picture that shows the colors strong enough, but I actually have this color combo in my parlor. Grayish green walls,muted gold fabrics on the window treatments and side chairs. My sofa and area rug both have grayish green, gold, beige and a tad of purple (more like an eggplant) which go quite well with my dark cherry stands and picture frames.
