Love Snicker's try these!

If you like SnickerÂs candy bars then you may want to give these a try. They are delicious and if they go as fast at your house as they do here youÂll never have to endure another stale Snickers bar. I have another recipe thatÂs a lot like Kit Kat Candy bars too if anyone is interested in that.

Chocolate Caramel Candy

Taste like Snickers only with a homemade taste beyond compare

1 c. Milk chocolate chips

¼ c. butterscotch chips

¼ c. creamy peanut butter

FILLING:

¼ c. butter or margarine

1 c. sugar

¼ c. evaporated milk

1-½ c. marshmallow crème

¼ c. creamy peanut butter

1 tsp. vanilla

1-½ c. chopped peanuts

CARAMEL LAYER

1 pkg. (14 oz) caramels unwrapped or 14 oz block caramel

¼ c. whipping cream

ICING

1 c. Milk chocolate chips

¼ c. butterscotch chips

¼ c. creamy peanut butter

Line a 13" x 9" x 2" pan with foil; butter the foil and set aside. Comine the first three ingredients in a saucepan or microwave proof glass bowl. Stir and heat on low until melted and smooth. Spread in prepared pan and chill until set. For filling melt the butter in a heavy saucepan over medium heat. Add sugar and milk; bring to a gentle boil. Reduce heat to medium low and boil and stir for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, stir in marshmallow crème peanut butter, vanilla. Add peanuts. Spread over first layer and chill until set. Combine caramels and cream in saucepan. Stir over low heat until melted and smooth. Cook and stir 4 more minutes. Spread over filling and chill until set. Proceed with the icing the same as the base layer. Pour over caramel layer. Chill for at least 4 hours. Remove from the refrigerator 20 minutes before cutting into 1" squares.

Yields about 8 dozen.

MikeÂs notes: You can speed the whole process by placing it in the freezer in between layers. That way when you have the next layer prepared it will be set and ready to spread it on. I use the microwave for the top and bottom layer and a pan for the rest. It sounds complicated but itÂs really easy and foolproof. It moves fairly quickly with the freezer method and it makes a lot!! These, buckeyeÂs and potato candy are the favorites here.
