You obviously have great taste- what is the color on your walls?

Just lovely!! I would add a small pillow with a coral color or orange - whatever matches the sofa - just to bring that color over to the bed. I would also add an art piece above the bed which is a landscape perhaps with some flowers in the soft greens, creams, corals, rust, and brown. Maybe a touch of black somewhere. Great bed. Durham is a nice quality furniture. Enjoy your new room!!

I love the Durham Furniture that is quality since I have Durham Furniture in my bedroom and the delivery time was quick also and it is made so well. I love your lamps and sheers also. The sofa's coral color needs to be brought over to the bed like threedgrad suggests. I like threedgrad's idea of artwork above the bed. Very nice!

WOW, just beautiful. The furniture is lovely, did you get any dressers beside the longerie chest? I love the color, the quilt, the sheers....unfortunately, I dont think the sofa is working there....which based on your comment, I think you know that. Do you have another wall or place for it in the house?

You know, gk5040, I laid awake in bed last night thinking that the couch might have to go back. It's killing me. You should have seen the delivery people force it into my room. After they left, I found my solid wood door ripped off at two hinges. I was not a happy camper. Will write more when I get to work.

I agree what a great job! (and speaking of simplicity, the wall color with the sheer white curtains is simply perfect!). I cannot speak to the space issues, but I too think that if you brought some of the red/coral whatever color it is from the couch to the bed, it would work.

I do love the bedding BUT if the sofa is the sticking point --- then I would change the bedding to make the room work .........

Just another thought!! I really DO love the bedding -- and the walls. An excellent transformation!

I like the couch and the paint color. If you change the bedding (easy fix) it will look awesome.

Unfortunately, I think you're right about returning the couch. It's not just the color, the style and size compete with the rest of the room. If it was an heirloom (or family piece, don't get me started ha), I would say to keep it. Can the door be repaired? I would use that as an excuse if they gave me any grief over the return.

Love the wall color, sheers and quilt, really pretty. What a calm space it will be when the couch is removed. Do you need a couch, or would a bench be a better choice?

I think a taller pair of lamps on the nightstands in white, silver or glass would look nice too. Or gray or green, those colors are so current.

It looks like the couch might go with the coral chair you used to have. If you still have it, then I would group them together. Either in this room if space allows, or in another room. The bedding says modern to me, the furniture is more traditional?

You could turn the couch against the foot of the bed facing the wall and put a plasma or flat screen TV on that wall, and you sure could use matching bedside lamps, taller ones, yours look like minitures with that bed, and somthing attractive a plant maybe on the tall chest between the doors.

Here are two different size lamps I pulled from the house to ask if I should go medium or tall. The size that is on the table now is 18".

lol Thanks oceanna, yeah I almost passed out when I watched them force the sofa into our bedroom. I heard the cracking sound but didn't know it was the door. Before I signed off on everything, I went upstairs and checked all the furniture but I didn't see the door off the hinges until they left. We screwed the screws back into the door but since they were pulled out, they are barely staying in the door. I will have to get longer screws. So you think I should take pictures? They damaged the woodwork and the drywall. I've never been through anything like this before.

Yup, I have to work on the pictures on the walls and the lamps etc. My husband and daughter love the couch so I will see how I feel in the next couple of days. I really loved in when I saw it, I'm just getting warm vibes from the couch and cool vibes from the bed and it is bugging me. So on to accessories. :)

I think anything over 31 inches is too high for the bedroom lamp. I think 29-30 inches is just right, but it could be a little chunkier like the ones in the furniture ad. What you have on the end tables are pretty but they disappear because they are too skinny and you see thru the glass. I love the 30" lamp and like the 32" inch but the 32 might be too tall...not sure.

I keep looking back at the sofa....unless there is more space we do not see, I think its just not the right size for the room, regardless of the fabric. If you do not have another place for it, I would see if you can exchange it. I would rather see a triple dresser or armoir on that wall:) with a smaller club style chair and ottoman or chaise in the corner. Someone mentioned turning it around and putting up a flat screen....I dont think its possible, it would be like sitting in the first row of a movie theater...you only have a foot or so of space between it and the bed. The bench is another alternative but not something you are going to hang out on. If you add the matching triple dresser you wouldnt have room for a bench. You are heading in the right direction...the bed set, curtains and wall color look awesome.

I love both 30" lamps. I feel a dresser instead in front of the bed or a cushioned bench would be nice. I love the sofa but too me it is too big for the space and it limits you in bedding options if you want a change.

Also a small Armoire/TV Deck may be nice where the sofa is to hold a bigger TV and for storage and then you would not need a picture above the sofa.

If you decide to keep the sofa, then add some pillows that blend with the sofa to make it go better in my humble opinion. I really love your room and I love the furniture.

Wow, I love your bedroom set! I think four posters are so classic. The wall color is awesome too - I must be into color now.
Maybe just a plain color quilt so it won't compete with your new couch.

What if you push the bed and tables a bit closer to the closet door and put the sofa on the window wall? Then add a small side table next to sofa with thin table lamp. Are you going to add a tv cabinet facing the bed? A large palm (real or faux) would add to the hotel feeling of your space.

threegrad, we have been toying with the idea of putting the sofa between the two windows. When we get the energy to move the bed, I will try it.

I pushed the couch in between the windows without moving the bed. If I move the bed down, I would have 8" more to work with, that's it.
