Do sweat ball valves have different seals than threaded ones?

Do sweat ball valves have heat resistant seals (perhaps Teflon?) while threaded ball valves have more ordinary seals (perhaps nylon?)

IÂm asking because a few weeks ago I soldered a 1" copper joint without removing a threaded ball valve that was about 7" away. While the valve did not leak, I noticed it got significantly easier to turn as if the seal had suffered some "thermal stress". So while I have never soldered a sweat valve, I cannot imagine them being as sensitive as the threaded one that I almost destroyed.
