No other than having my hair done I can't stand people I don't know touching me. I'm not girly enough to do the spa thing. My idea of pampering would be to go out in the wilderness where I wouldn't need to worry about grooming at all. LOL

I'm more like Wildchild. My idea of pampering is to spend a day doing something I enjoy, totally alone. I also don't like people I don't know touching me...and I do good to get a haircut.

Yes, I do enjoy that kind of pampering.

I wouldn't enjoy it. I'm with Wildchild and Marilyn, I don't like being touched by strangers.

I would love it! I don't really consider that being pampered; it is more of a special treat.

I've had 5 surgeries and anything like even a back rub was wonderful. Nurses and doctors have "had their hands" on me, and all were appreciated and made me feel better.

Yes, I love to be pampered. I feel that massage, pedicures, manicures, etc. can be stress relievers. I don't have any of the above often, but feel great when I do. Had a facial once and it was wonderful.

I would love it....when DGD was deployed to Iraq three years ago, she, her mother, her step-mother, step-sister and I all had pedicures, manicures and facials together one weekend. I didn't go for the pedicure because I have horrible looking feet, but the facial was marvelous....I could get hooked on that alone.

I love it! My DH and I get a massage once a month and I get a pedicure every two weeks. I am very pampered.

I'm with Wildchild and Marilyn on this one. Can't stand having people I don't know touch me.

I'll take the massage any day of the week, but you can keep the rest.

Nope - a fleeting waste of money in my opinion - other than a good haircut and color. I also like to pamper myself with lasting things like nice handbags as I mentioned in that post.

Ohhhhhhhhh, DS gave me a massage gift certificate to Ross Bridge resort here. I thought I had died and gone to heaven.

Then there was THE OTHER, massage, in a home, and it was the pits. Had to go to therapy to work out the bad things done to my back.

Ross Bridge, here, has day spa's. I'd love to go to one and be indulged.

Nope, not at all. My husband at the time gave me a gift certificate at a spa where I got a manicure, pedicure and facial for my 40th birthday. Hated it.

But then I got one for my mom for Mother's Day. The only way she'd go is if I would go with her. Neither of us liked it.

The put me in a little room with soothing music and the face goop on, where I was supposed to relax. All I could think of were the things I'd rather be doing, than lie there, being bored!

I hope you enjoy your spa treatment. That's not for me. Being pampered to me would be a day of not having to do any chores or take anyone anywhere; just take a day to kick back. sleep when I want, read when I wantand eat some already prepared food. It's been so long that it is a fleeting memory.

In my life I've had 2 manicures, 1 pedicure, and multiple massages - never anything like you're going for.

1/2 day being pampered at a spa.... sounds incredible! Enjoy!

I have given DS a massage gift certificate to a men's salon here. He loved it and now gets them frequently on his own.

His work is stressful and it helps him!

I love being pampered. Great for relaxation especially when you have a stressful job. I could use a massage right now. If I ever win the lottery I'm going hire someone to give me a daily massage.

I had a manicure once. Didn't hate it, but didn't love it either. It felt awkward to have a stranger rubbing my hands. So I have never thought about getting any other kind of pampering. Doesn't appeal to me. I'd take the same value in books and lattes and be happy. To me a quality day to myself is to start and finish a book in one reading without getting out of bed. My mom often offers to take me with her to get a pedicure, but I turn her down. There would be something about it that would make me feel like I was degrading the person cleaning my feet. I'm sure they don't see it that way, but that's part of my hang-up.

Don't care for that kind of pampering. Got a massage a couple of times, NBD.
Don't touch my feet either.
My DD likes spa days, pedis, salon appts.
I'm glad those that like the attention enjoy it.

I dont mean spa,I always doted on my hubby,anything to make him comfortable,now I need it I want it,I do my own nails,toes and fingers.love the feeling when you get hair ,eyebrows done and it looks nice.

Bulldinkie...if you don't want to just go and pay for it yourself - just let your family know what you want for the next gift giving occasion - like "you know what I would rally like for my birthday?"

Heck - just make up an occasion and say to hubby - Next week is "treat your wife day, and you know what i would really like?"

Men and children can't read minds....let them know what would make you feel good !

I just love manicures, pedicures and massages. I even love getting haircuts, because they shampoo me first and it feels so good. Enjoy! My doctor noticed my manicured nails one day and told me it was good for me, she'd write me a prescription!
