Hi! Generally I make lots of cookies and some canned goods for Christmas. I am in the very beginning stage of candy making (I bought a candy thermometer recently, but haven't freed it from its packaging yet.)

Anyway, here's a candy recipe thats very easy. No thermometer necessary and people will think you fussed. The recipe is from Hershey's.

Cashew Macadamia Crunch
Ingredients:

* 2 cups (11.5-oz. pkg.) HERSHEY'S Milk Chocolate Chips
* 3/4 cup coarsely chopped salted or unsalted cashews
* 3/4 cup coarsely chopped salted or unsalted macadamia nuts
* 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
* 1/2 cup sugar
* 2 tablespoons light corn syrup

Directions:
1. Line 9-inch square pan with foil, extending foil over edges of pan; butter foil. Cover bottom of prepared pan with chocolate chips.

2. Combine cashews, macadamia nuts, butter, sugar and corn syrup in large heavy skillet; cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until butter is melted and sugar is dissolved. Increase heat to medium; cook, stirring constantly, until mixture begins to cling together and turns golden brown.

3. Pour mixture over chocolate chips in pan, spreading evenly. Cool. refrigerate until chocolate is firm. Remove from pan; peel off foil. Break into pieces. Store tightly covered in cool, dry place. About 1-1/2 pounds candy.

Ooohh that sounds delish! Have you tried it before? I got this one from a friend:

:
1 lb nuts
1 egg white
1 tsp water
1 c sugar
½ tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon
¾ tsp ginger
¾ tsp allspice
¼ tsp nutmeg

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325° F.
2. Mix all dry ingredients(sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger, allspice, nutmeg) together in a measuring cup.
3. Blend egg whites and water in a bowl together.
4. Add nuts to egg/water mixture and mix together.
5. Pour dry ingredients over nuts.
6. Mix together until nuts are coated with the spice mixture.
7. Place nuts on a cookie sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
8. Bake at 325° F. for 20 minutes.
9. Remove nuts from oven and place onto wax paper.

10. Allow nuts to cool.
11. Enjoy!!!
