The best oysters ever. Period.

Had an unconventional holiday: a week in a budget motel between Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. Had a great time; it was a fine base for exploring the area.

I've always been a bit of a chauvinist/booster when it comes to Louisiana food, and Louisiana seafood in particular. So it came as a huge revelation when I went into a restaurant and they had 'Lucky Lime' oysters from the Prince Edward Island area.

After eating the first one I turned to my wife and said: 'You've never heard me say this before, but I've never had a Gulf oyster as good as this." And this is from someone who went to Apalachicola for a weekend and ate about 20 dozen over a few days!! Briny, rich, plump, seductive--you didn't want to spoil the flavor with anything as strong as cocktail sauce with horseradish. A sprinkling of lemon juice, a dry white wine--I was in asymmetrical bivalve heaven. These even beat out a couple of Blue Point (?) oysters I had a while back.

So. In my opinion, that's the one to beat. Anyone else have a favorite oyster?
