Fruitcake in cupcake tins help please

I'm going to make fruitcake and want to put it in cupcakes because my father has issues with portion control. :)

(He's trying to slow down and apparently used to eat a fruitcake in two sessions.)

So, the recipe calls for lining the bottom of the loaf pans with waxed paper and greasing and flouring. Bake for about 2 hrs at 275F.

Would it work OK to just use paper cupcake/muffin liners, without grease and flour? Would 275F still be a good temperature for cupcake-sized fruitcake (I figured out the not for two hours part though!)?

Or is this a bad idea altogether and I should just cut and prepackage reasonable portions from a loaf?
