Oh, in that picture, the vintage wine is the ceiling color.

Are your antiques of the furniture variety? Do you tend to have more dark wood tones, or oak, or white? I would take the wood tones into consideration. If you do sell furniture, my gut feel is that vintage wine is not a good choice. Since you want to distinguish your booth, maybe something in the blue to purple range, not too dark.

I am in the midst of using BM's Purple Rain for my den and dr walls and it is a rich velvet looking purple. No brown in it at all.

Yes, I do have furniture. Woods, some dark, some lighter, very little white, the occasional wicker piece. I lean heavily towards fine antiques, not primitives or shabby chic. I do have some wood shelves painted light sage green.

Dianalo, your purple rain is lovely! If only I had some natural light, I could go with a deep color. Sigh.

I'd post pix, but won't have any until I finish painting those walls tomorrow. The color is very deep and rich. We have bright white trim and will have a tv on the den wall and a large mirror on one dining room wall and a wide awning window with white roman shades on the other , so we can get away with a dark color. It is a very open floor plan with light colors nearby and with a cathedral ceiling in the den. It is on 2 walls, but I love it so much, I'd put it on more walls if I could ;) We wanted dark for the den wall to be theater-like and cozy for the dining room with our chrome chandelier. I wish all my choices for colors worked out this well, lol.....

Is your booth in a room with fluorescent lighting? If so, remember that they wash out the red tones in things. I did a craft show one year in a school gym with fluorescents, and my lovely red poinsettias looked dead - washed out all the richness in the color.

Besides, if you read the description on the page you linked, it specifically says it has a deep brown base.

And, honestly, if people aren't drawn to the color of the space, they are likely not to stop and look, or bother to walk over from somewhere else.

How much wall space are we talking about - all three sides, or just a back wall, or what? How much will be exposed, or will you be hanging things on the wall like framed art, or putting in larger furniture pieces that will cover some of the wall?

Les, that is what I experienced, the fluorescents washed out the red. I painted a test board which looked more plum than brown, however on those walls, it looked the other way around. But regardless of the tone, it's just too dark a color for this space.

All three sides are painted in a space of 13' x 11', and there will be lots of framed art and furniture covering much of the walls. But still, the paint color is the backdrop for the decor, and I want to get it right!

I have another booth, and it is painted a neutral off-white/tan. I wanted to be a bit more bold or different in this booth, but just haven't come up with the right color yet. I've decided I am going to repaint, so at this point, I am just asking for paint color suggestions. My only ideas are either a light grey or a terra cotta.

Of the many requests that I see on these decorating boards, the most common ones are "what color will tone down the orange in oak or the red in mahogany or cherry, etc". The most common answer is usually a green.

When I think of an antique booth, I think of lots of antique oak, cherry, walnut and mahogany. A nice sage green is usually always a nice back-drop for these wood tones. How do you like your sage shelves?

If you want dramatic, you might consider navy or a dark, dark green. Think of a dark library/study look with dark desks,shelving, old book, etc.

Since the fluorescent lighting is the limiting factor in this case, I would choose to test the color first under these same lighting conditions. Terracotta or gray might both look too muddy, not flattering to the space, or the wood tones of the furniture pieces. If you want to attract attention to your space, I think a warm brown based yellow, a pistachio green or a ballerina pink would be most flattering, in a funky retro way, that could be brought out further with the play of accessories and a few branches or fresh floral stems. Remember, you're selling the mood, as well as the furniture, so pick a theme that complements the style and color of the furniture you sell most.

I was helping my niece choose a booth concept, and when I researched images, I saved this one, amongst others. You could of course vary the colors, but I like how the two-tone expands the space.

Dianalo, please post pics when you can! I need a new "eggplant" for my DR. In most light--now that the paint has aged--SW Soulmate is just too purple-y. Thanks.

This is not a good representation as it comes off too burgundy. It is a very rich purple but my camera phone cannot capture it properly. It is a little lighter than this shows, but also can look darker. It all depends on the lighting.

gwbr54~Luv that picture, and the gears on those clocks, so fun! Those walls are great, plus I like how the back wall is set further back on one side, it adds depth. Also the narrow (empty!) shelf that casts a shadow to further define the space.

Shea, I love the color, but IMO, it's not going to draw people in~~you need something bright!

I've had a space in a local antique mall for the last 2 1/2 years, and wanted a color that could be seen 'coming around the corner'. ;o)

Looking at it and pretending I don't know how it looks IRL, I'd say my pic looks like a wine/purple shade when that is false. I'll try again in the daylight.
You can tell it is off by how off the blue and green painter's tapes look.
