I actually like the timeline. :)

Facebook has been through sooooo many iterations over the past few years. Everyone complains about the change, then gets used to it, then complains about the change - saying they want it to go back to the way it was.... which is what they were complaining about when it was a change.

So funny - Facebook is free. Nobody is forcing anyone to use it... Quitting Facebook doesn't harm the company at all. They don't care! :)

CHloe, you're absolutely right. Facebook is a free service and you don't have to use it. Yet everyone complains about the changes. I'm not thrilled about timeline either but it's their company/website and they're free to do whatever they want with it. If I really hated it that much I'd close up my account. But Facebook KNOWS everyone is not going to do that, so they do what works for them and let users do what they want. Usually that means staying with facebook.

I'm liking Timeline, too. I especially like seeing what people choose for their cover photos.

I do not use facebook but possibly what might help is reading up some of the articles and tutorials on how to use the new features, there are also several youtube videos on the subject. I find when I really dig into learning about something it helps me to adjust easier.

Is there a date when everyone will be changed over to timeline? I keep expecting to find that I have been "timelined" but not yet.

I've been using Timeline for a couple of months and like it a lot, especially the cover photos, lots of fun.

You should quit FB if you don't like it.

What I dislike about it is the constant jumping of the page, you go to the bottom to read something and *JUUUUMP* it bounces up and you've lost the place of what you were just reading...extremely annoying!

I changed awhile ago but now it's mandatory. I don't like it. I missed a friend b-day yesterday because before I was always reminded at the right bar. I clicked on my B-day calender and there was a green block and when I clicked on it, it was my friend's b=day..yesterday. Why they don't give notice anymore , I don't know.

Timeline is simply a new version of your PROFILE page. The news feed still exists, and it still populates the events with your friends' birthdays. Set your news feed to sort by "recent" and it will be just fine.

They might not care if a FEW people quit, but you have to remember that YOU ARE NOT THEIR CUSTOMER....YOU ARE THEIR PRODUCT that they sell to advertisers. Just like a magazine...if no one buys or subscribes, then no advertiser will pay for ads.

I don't like it either, but Timeline will be the format for all FB pages, beginning April 10, I believe. Guess they keep changing it up to keep the young set interested. I rarely post to FB, but it is an easy way to keep in touch with people, and I appreciate that.

I rather like it too although I only changed a week or so ago. Like anything else, change brings a learning curve....
I think your solution is the best thing...just deactivate your account....that will show them how pissed you really are.
