using frozen fruit for jam

14 years ago

Hi I make lots of jam and jelly but always do it fresh. I have a triple berry jam that I decided to wait until winter to make so froze the fruit - strawberry, raspberry and boysenberry or blackberry. I remove all the seeds with a food mill, so it's not a jelly.

In trying to figure out how to deal with measuring the compacted fruit now that it's been frozen, I read that I should have measured when fresh, but I didn't. I just froze in ziplock bags. Anyone able to tell me how to compensate now that I can't get the same measurements I would have with fresh berries? I will use powdered pectin.
