Caution regarding adding a link to one's post

I just had an interesting experience when trying to add a link to my post.

While adding my book title to a thread asking what we're reading now, I added a link.

When I went to "Preview", it was "Rejected" - no descriptive message regarding the link!

What are you talking about? - sure I added a descriptor!

Returned, wrote, " 'NEW ..." ... and the title that I'd written appeared in a dialogue box under my mouse.

So - I had written a descriptor!

Wait a minute - did that quotation mark have anything to do with it? So - I removed ... the first quotation mark. Preview showed up O.K., no rejection - was ready to post it!

Wait a minute - where's the last of the descriptor? Nothing beyond the title of the book was showing.

So - removed the second quotation mark.

The message showed up as I'd originally written it - except that the marks setting off the name of the book were missing.

Just an extra word to the wise, folks.

You learn something new every day - or should make an effort toward that goal.

ole joy-foully treated

P.S. No link included, this time. But ... if you're adding a descriptor to a link that you're including in a post ...

... don't quote me, O.K.?
