Do you have a soap dispenser recommendation?

I'm looking for a reasonably priced, solid and reliable soap dispenser for my parents' new kitchen.

Anything that comes in a brushed nickel or similar finish would work.

The inexpensive, generic one we bought at Lowes leaked all over the granite, so that's out.

I had a Delta in my kitchen that basically stopped pumping after a year, so we'd likely not go with Delta again.

I've had good experiences with Hansgrohe, but it's very pricey, at around $170.

We'd like to keep it under $100. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

We used a Moen from Lowes in our last house. Worked well for the 11 years we owned the house.

I would get one where you can easily add the soap at the top. I have read about ones that have to be removed from under the sink to fill. Other people just buy some sort of kit to have a hose that goes into a soap bottle under the sink. (I think that was what they were talking about. )

Can anyone recommend a dispenser with a LONG spout? The one we have now (Price Pfister) has an utterly useless 2" spout. I have found a 3 7/8" spout, also 3 1/2", but am wondering if there are any that are longer. The new sink is 10" deep. We weren't going to get a new soap dispenser, but after reading this thread, I thought, "I don't want ugly bottles on my new granite!" I could do a rack mounted on the sink cabinet door, but I think the dispenser is neater :-) It just needs a long spout so it can actually squirt dish soap into the pots, instead of dribbling down the side of the sink. Will definitely get a NeverMT--so glad that I heard of it here!

I have a Grohe soap dispenser that is almost 7 years old, and looks like the day it was installed. I do not recall the model number. Whatever soap dispenser you get, make sure not to install it too far back from the sink edge or you will get soap on the counter. Mine seems at a good spot - approx. 2-1/4" from sink/counter edge to center of soap dispenser. It may depend on the length of the dispenser. I did have an occasional clogging problem when I was using Palmolive soap. Unclogging was easy--just stick the pump in a tall glass of hot water, and pump the hot water through until it flows easily. I did away with that issue entirely when I switched to Seventh Generation Dish Washing Liquid (learned about on this Forum, thanks!). Seventh Generation is not as thick as Palmolive. Works great too, quite the grease-cutter.

I have one at the prep sink but not at the main sink. I have a Never Empty under the counter so I don't have the hassle of filling it through the hole on top of the sink. We put it at the prep sink because that sink is on the island and we prefer to have most of the island top open. A soap dispenser takes up less room than having a bottle on the counter there. It is really nice to have it always in the same place (not wandering around on the counter top) and near the faucet so that most of the area is always clear for use and I always know where to go to for it. Our prep sink is also near where people tend to enter the kitchen so it is the best location for washing hands before working in the kitchen and it is near the table for cleaning up our grand children's hands before or after eating. As someone mentioned above, it is convenient for washing hands immediately after handling items like raw meat since those are prepared at the prep sink. We didn't put one at the main sink. That has the filtered hot and cool water dispenser and the air gap so we didn't want one more item there. Also, it is near the corner of an L so that a bottle of dish soap next to it isn't in the way of anything. I like being able to pick up the bottle to squirt it in an item I'm working on no matter where in the sink the item is. For the way we use that sink a soap bottle is more convenient there than a soap dispenser.

YES - I know they're expensive, but Rohl and Perrin & Rowe make long spouted ones, in part because of how soap dispensers get mounted w/ their sinks being so thick. They have a few to choose from (see link). Here is a link that might be useful: Long Spout Soap Dispensers

Breezy recommended an Elkay dispenser. We liked it so much that we have them in the kitchen and in the bathroom. Clean simple design.

As Lolo mentioned, I used the Elkay Gorumet dispensers. Mine are polished chrome, but they are available in brushed nickel also. I think the chrome price was about $72 last I checked online. They work well for my hand soap, especially when attached to a NeverMT so I don't have to refill often. 16 months without having to refill.

You vetoed the Lowe's one, but when I went to HD to order the matching Blanco dispenser for my faucet, the fellow there encouraged me to buy their $14 one, (which looked very very similar to the Blanco Rados one). I was in the throes of everything having to be good quality, and was ready to poo poo that idea, but when the Blanco one turned out to be $220 via special order, I reconsidered his suggestion. Have had it in place and used every day without problem for 5 years!

So glad I saved over $200!

I have Graff -- they were under $100 when I bought them. I thought that was high since I was used to seeing really inexpensive ones in the big box stores, but they are very solid and work well with the Never MT too.

Thanks for the responses, and the pics! I'm looking at each dispenser that was mentioned, and happy to have these reasonably priced, solid options.

Breezy and Lascatx, I hadn't heard of the Never MT before. I'm getting ready to buy 2 for me and 2 for my mom.

I love the Waterstone Traditional that goes with our faucet that will be going in our kitchen, but it is pricey (around $230). I looked on line at Quality Bath and they have some really lovely models in the $70 range. So pretty in fact that I may just get the Waterstone faucet and go with a less expensive soap dispenser. Big thanks to Breezy Girl for mentioning the NeverMT! I am going to definitely include that in my kitchen.
