Nah Kiwi...there are alot of models(especially run way) that have bunions..because of all the ill fitting shoes they wear. I believe Tyra Banks complains about hers all the time. LOL

so you aren't an old lady, you are a MODEL... tee hee

Kiwi-I've had a bunion since my early 30's! It doesn't really bother me....Yet! Sometimes if I wear a certain shoe that rubs or puts pressure there it will hurt but that's about it.My poor grandmother had them on both feet to the point of disfigurement.Mother had them too,as well as all of my aunts.I have heard they are hereditary, but I think my mother and aunts made them worse by wearing pointed toe, high heels. My mother worked in those shoes,on her feet all day every day for years. My cousin,2 years younger than me,had surgery on hers in her 40's and says she regrets it because they have hurt more after the surgery than they ever did before. The main reason she had the surgery was because she thought they were ugly and wanted to be able to wear pretty sandals without being embarrassed!

We used to say that tight shoes'd do it.

I had a pair of shoes that were some too tight in that area, a few years ago and it built a callus on that joint, which I could reduce some by rubbing, after a bath. After some time, the callus was pretty well gone - but a residue of it remains.

I certainly don't envy a lot of the "stylish" shoes that you women seem called upon to wear!

ole joyful

My Mother had terrible toes, hammer toes from wearing too tight shoes as a teenager. I know it had to be when she was a teen as she got married at 18 and moved to the country and she sure was not wearing high heels where we lived. My sister and I never had that problem.
