Such a lovely deal is, of course, available only to a limited number: can't have the unwashed millions qualifying, can we ... or soon the government would be broke!

Until 2005, the tax-free amount was about $28,000.00 - 30,000.00 ... then they changed the way that they calculate, for a major increase in 2006 to $46,345.00 ... and it's higher, now.

Our Conservative government helping their rich friends!

Oh! Did I neglect to mention? The main beneficiaries of this plan are ... rich folks.

There's a description over on the "Retirement"forum ... with the suggestion that it might be of interest to someone with major investable assets, wanting to retire early, before wanting to ask for pension(s) ... say, about 60? 50? Whatever.
