Sweet Bacon Crackers

Original Recipe Yield 30 crackers

Ingredients

36 buttery crackers such as Keebler ClubÃ¯Â¿Â½ Crackers

12 slices bacon, cut into thirds

3/4 cup packed light brown sugar

Directions

Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Line two rimmed cookie sheets with aluminum foil.

Arrange crackers on the prepared cookie sheets in a single layer. Place a piece of bacon on top of each cracker, then put about a teaspoon of brown sugar on top of the bacon.

Bake in the preheated oven until bacon is browned and crackers and bacon are glazed, about 45 minutes. Drain on paper towels before serving.

I'm making this for dessert tonite. I've made it before and it's delicious and easy!

Roasted Caramel-Glazed Apples (Sue_Va)

3 tbsp butter
4 firm, crisp apples; halved and cored
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
chopped walnuts

Heat oven to 357F

Place butter in 13x9 baking pan and melt. Combine cinnamon, brown sugar and nuts and sprinkle over the butter.

Place apples cut side down and bake until apples are tender; 20 minutes. Turn apples and spoon sauce over top. Bake 5 more minutes until apples are golden brown.

Let cool slightly and serve with whipped cream or ice cream.

Add the spices and mix with the olive oil. 3. Clean the potatoes and slice the potato into even wedges. 4. Put the potatoes on the cookie sheet and use your hands to coat the potatoes with the olive oil mix. 5. The baking time will vary depending on how big your wedges are. I usually bake mine for 20 minutes, take them out of the oven to flip them, and bake for another 10 - 15 minutes. If you want them crispier, just bake them for a few minutes longer. Harry wants me to make this. You can buy lemon curd but I saw it being made on Nate Berkus the other day. Sure is easy enough to do at home. LEMON COCONUT POKE CAKE (Taste and Tell) 1 (16.25-oz) white cake mix 1 (14-oz) can sweetened condensed milk 1 (15-oz) cream of coconut (usually found with the drink mixers) 2 cups lemon curd 1 (16-oz) container frozen whipped topping, thawed (such as Cool Whip) 2 cups sweetened coconut Prepare the cake according to package directions. While still hot, poke holes through the top of the cake with a skewer. In a bowl, mix together the sweetened condensed milk and cream of coconut. Pour over the warm cake. When the cake has cooled, spread the lemon curd over the top of the cake. If not serving right away, refrigerate. When ready to serve, top with the Cool Whip and then sprinkle with coconut. LEMON CURD (Nate Berkus website) 3/4 cup granulated sugar Grated rind and juice (1/3 cup) of 2 lemons 1/2 cup butter 3 eggs, beaten Put all ingredients in the top of a double boiler, over hot water. I love the Auntie Ann soft pretzels and always treat myself to one when I find them. Here is a copy cat recipe for them. Auntie Anne's Pretzels: Copycat Recipe Makes 12 Adapted from Food Network 2 cups milk 1 1/2 tablespoons (2 packets) active dry yeast 6 tablespoons brown sugar 4 tablespoons butter, melted 4 1/2 cups flour 2 teaspoons fine salt 1/3 cup baking soda 3 cups warm water Coarse salt 8 tablespoons butter, melted in a shallow dish Warm up the milk in the microwave or on the stove for just about one and a half minutes. It should be about 110Ã¯Â¿Â½. If it's too hot it will kill the yeast. You should be able to comfortably keep your finger in it. Stir in the yeast and let it sit for about 3 minutes. Add the butter and sugar. Add the flour about 1 cup at a time and the add the fine salt. Kneed for about 10 minutes with a stand mixer, or by hand. Put it in a greased bowl and cover with greased cling wrap. Let rise for 1 hour in a moist, warm place until doubled in size. Preheat the oven to 450Ã¯Â¿Â½. Divide dough into 12 lumps (I like to divide it in half, then divide each half into three, and then divide each remaining one in half again). Roll them all out as thin as you can. Combine the warm water and baking soda in a wide bowl. Form the dough into pretzel shapes, then dip in the baking soda water. Place on a greased baking sheet and sprinkle with coarse salt. One I've recently saved.Found on Pinterest. Now if I had company coming I could try it soon! But not. Baked S'mores recipe courtesy Baked Perfection Ingredients 1/2 cup butter, room temperature 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup sugar 1 large egg 1 tsp vanilla 1 1/3 cups flour 1/4 tsp salt (optional) 3/4 cup graham cracker crumbs (approximately 5 full graham crackers) 1 tsp baking powder 2 or 3 super-sized (5 oz.) chocolate bars (e.g. HersheyÃ¯Â¿Â½s) 1 1/2 cups marshmallow creme/fluff (or mini marshmallows if you must!) Directions Preheat oven to 350. Grease bottom of pan. In a large bowl or stand mixer, cream together butter and sugar until light. Beat in egg and vanilla. In a small bowl, whisk together flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking powder and salt. Add to butter mixture and mix at a low speed until combined. Divide dough in half and press half of dough into an even layer on the bottom of the prepared pan. Place chocolate bars over dough. Two 5 oz. HersheyÃ¯Â¿Â½s bars should fit perfectly [for 8 by 8] side by side, but break the chocolate (if necessary) to get it to fit in a single layer. [use 3 Hershey's for 12 by 8 pan] Spread marshmallow fluff evenly over the chocolate layer. Place remaining dough in a single layer on top of the creme. This is most easily done by putting the second half of the dough in a gallon size freezer bag. Use your palms or rolling pin to flatten it out, and then use scissors to cut down both long sides of the bag, so it will open up book-style. Open it up carefully, and the dough will stick on one side of the bag. Then place the bag, dough side down, on the other three layers. Glad you have your 'puter back, Luckygardnr! Paula Deen has a similar recipe for the bacon crackers except she puts a tsp. of Parmesan cheese on the cracker and then wraps in bacon.

Harry would really like those apples, Jasdip. I'll have to try them. Should that be 375 degrees?

I'm making this for dinner tonight to test it before I make it for next Monday's brunch. I've had the recipe forever. Got it from another site that had great forums.

Chicken-Pecan Quiche (DebbieD/Alabama)

1 c. flour
1 c. (4 oz.) sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
3/4 c. pecans, chopped
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 tsp. paprika
1/3 c. vegetable oil

Combine first 5 ingredients in a medium bowl; stir well. Add oil. Stir well. Firmly press mixture in bottom and up the sides of a 9" deep-dish pie plate. Bake at 350 for 12 minutes. Cool completely.

1 c. sour cream
1/4 c. mayonnaise
3 large eggs, lightly beaten
2 c. cooked chicken, finely chopped
1/2 c. (2 oz.) sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
1/4 c. minced onion
3 drops hot sauce (optional)
1/4 c. pecan halves

Combine sour cream and next two ingredients; stir with a wire whisk until smooth. Stir in chicken, 1/2 c. cheese, onion and hot sauce. Pour into prepared crust. Arrange pecan halves over chicken mixture. Bake at 350 for 55 minutes or until set. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. Yield: 8 servings.

Note: You can substitute any deep-dish pie crust. Just sprinkle the bottom of the crust with 1/2 c. shredded cheese and add the whole cup of cheese and pecans to the chicken-sour cream mixture. Prebake the pie crust 10 minutes.

In reading my recipe, I see that the temp reads 357F.
Cook it at 357, not 350, nor 360 but 357!! LOL

Nah, it's my fingers playing tricks on me. Should be 375 degrees.

I make these with cheese crackers from Dollar Tree

Taco Crackers

2 7 oz boxes cheese crackers
5 tsp taco seasoning
1 tsp each
garlic powder
oregano
chili powder
1/2 cup oil (less than 1/2 cup)
Stir seasonings with oil
Pour over crackers in plastic bag
Mix thoroughly
refrigerate overnite
turning several times
Let reach room temp before serving

Well, we just had dinner and I made the apple dessert! OMG! It was soooooo goooood! And so easy to make! Try it, everyone...you'll not regret it!

When I saw this I wondered if I had posted the recipe incorrectly, so I went back and looked at it in my recipe folder.

Actually here is how I have it.

ROASTED CARAMEL-GLAZED CINNAMON APPLES

3 Tbls butter
4 firm, crisp apples, halved and seeded.
Ã¯Â¿Â½ cup brown sugar
4 cinnamon sticks (about 4 inches each) halved, or mix 2 tsps ground cinnamon with the brown sugar.

With oven rack in middle position, heat to 400Ã¯Â¿Â½. Place butter in 13 x 9 inch baking pan to melt.

Sprinkle brown sugar over the butter and arrange cinnamon sticks evenly over the sugar. Place apples, cut side down over sticks, or evenly over the sugar. Bake until apples are tender, about 25 minutes. Turn apples over and spoon sauce over apples. Continue to bake about 5 minutes or apples are golden brown. Let cool slightly. Serve a half apple in each bowl, sticking a cinnamon stick in each core.

Since some of you have made them and they turned out good, guess it doesn't matter much.
