Kitchen Layout - Cabinet around Stove (Pic)

User

Redoing our kitchen, layout is almost ready, but I am questioning the size of the cabinets around the stove.

I was originally think 18" cabinets on both sides of the stove, but I am feeling that is a little tight for counter top on the right side of the stove.

I could easily swap out to a 24 on one side, but would that look imbalanced, and am I trying to put too much in there that corner? The door by the MW is just a pass thru, and might not even trim it out on the kitchen side. A couple more inches could be shaved off there.

The short wall that runs through the peninsula is to represent where the current wall is, and it will be removed in the reno. I don't want to push too far into the dining room, and my table is pretty wide.

As I slowly start taking stuff out of the current kitchen, I think I will not order the uppers around the range hood, and see how it goes without them. I like to openness. Upper wall cabinets could be added easily later.
