have you searched online for adobe colors? maybe you'd find a color there that would work?

some on here do have great memories, so maybe someone will come up with it. I'm not one of them tho - lol!

When you said bright Mexican-style colors I thought of AuntJen! You might try a search with her name. I don't think she has posted house pictures lately.

I remember the bathroom, but can't think of who the owner is! If I think of it I will post it.

trailrunner, beautiful rooms, thanks for posting, but I guess the color was more orange than adobe..... chispa, AuntJen sounds familiar, but when I went back to search it I went through 11 pages without any luck - looks like maybe the searches don't go back far enough? I can't help with finding that thread, but I've seen some lovely "adobe" colors on this website. I tried many paint samples in our last house trying to get that color. I ended up with LA 'Spice' which worked for that house, but our new house needed something more earthy. I saw this color in a model home while we were house-hunting and asked for its name. I got a sample, and have used it in my new house. Here's a pic of the tub niche in our master bath. I also used it in the Powder room and laundry room and great room ceiling, but pics in those rooms don't come out true to color. This is the best one I can get that I feel represents it (on my monitor, anyway). The color is an old Duron color called 'Basque Brown'. A lovely person on this forum found a Duron paint chip for me and mailed it to me (how cool is that?!); I had the color mixed up at Sherwin-Williams.

I'm thinking it was a few years ago, but maybe it was more recent -- there were a series of threads about Spanish decor. Was your reference picture a part of something like that, or something more specific to *a* house?

Have you tried the Gallery? There are picture collections of rooms by color. Pretty sure there's something for oranges or reds.

avesmore... I think you might be right, I think it was a series of photos with Spanish themes... I did look through the gallery on your suggestion and I've looked up everything I can think of on the link Charley suggested but I couldn't find it -- I did find some other possibilities and I may just have to go with one of those. terrilynn, thanks for posting, that is so pretty but it was a darker color I was thinking of. thanks everyone for trying to help my aging memory!
