This was hard to think of because I am usually so "practical" LOL I guess I would like to have fresh cut flowers delivered every week - now that would be frivolous, costly and totally impractical but they would be beautiful to look at and smell. LOL

What do I want?

For people who are fighting one another in various areas of the world, especially the Middle East, to learn more of the other side's viewpoint, gain some respect for it, when possible, and try to sit down together to figure ways to have everyone achieve as much as possible of their desires. Not only does fighting divide people, rather than build respect, it is hugely wasteful of precious resources, plus when one side wins and puts the defeated ones down, usually the trouble festers for generations: witness Israel and the Palestinians.

As Jean Vanier said recently, for a narrowing of the gap between the income levels of the richest and the poorest, rather than widening, as it has been lately. That will result in revolution, with a great deal of suffering ... plus wastage of precious resources.

On a personal level: I'm a practical guy, lived among destitute refugees, have little enthusiasm for luxuries, when many in the world have next to nothing - can't think of a thing.

Air tickets to visit relatives more frequently. But that leaves more fuel residues up in the sky ... and we've left thousands of tons of it up there, within the last hundred years ... and it remains to be seen what results will flow from that new addition to the world's atmospheric situation, over time.

Travel to Europe ... Asia ... Africa ... South America ... Australia. Other parts of North America. To see more of the ways that this great old world functions - and maybe get some ideas to offer to other caring people as to ways to help it function better. But that uses a lot more fuel.

As one nears the end of life ... one doesn't need a lot more "stuff" - for one's survivors to dispose of, after one's departure.

I've always hankered for a really good set of Night Vision Goggles. Not a toy but a really good professional pair. I probably won't ever buy them for myself. I just can't justify the 600-900 plus dollars for something like that but I'd like 'em.

I'm with Cherryfizz - flowers delivered every week! It's hard for me to even buy one bouquet of flowers unless I am having a party.. so having them here weekly would be a treat.

A large, old pot bellied stove in mint condition. The only large ones I've ever seen that are in good condition cost about $1000 or more.

I just want it for decor on our back porch and I just can't make myself spend that kind of money for something I don't really need.

These are selfish wishes, and I'm not deeply yearning for any of the above. I am actually a very happy, satisfied person. And lucky too.

I really wish for us to take better care of Mother Earth, and I wish people would stop fighting.

I can't think of a single thing I want that I don't have. I've had urges for certain luxury items in the past, but I've indulged them. And there is nothing that comes to mind now.

It may sound corny, but all I really want anymore is good health for my family.

I'd love to have an above ground pool up at the cabin. And some cute cabana boy to take care of it.

I do seriously pray, daily, for kidneys/health for our suffering KT sisters, and world peace and tolerance, for these are the things that truly matter. Love, and health, and peace, and sharing.

I want a vacation cabin at a lake. Lake Okaboji would be nice or maybe some lake in Minnesota.

They really aren't that expensive, but totally frivolous and would take up precious space in our bathroom, but it would be heavenly after a shower in the wintertime to get a nice warm towel!!

Other then that-A bigger house with a nice fenced in yard & basement or bonus room to throw all the kids toys (and the kids too)! Also a HUGE walk in closet. I swear I'd be more organzied if my closet was bigger!!!

I want a Leopard Applaloosa horse. I have wanted a horse since before I could walk(or so my Mama says!). I am 50 years old and I don't think I'll ever have that horse. But man.....it would be a dream come true!

I would like a Bose Wave CD player. The sound is incredible for such a small machine and it is small and inconspicuous enough to put on the shelf in the living room. Then I could have lovely music while I was reading.

With funds low, I thought when I read this thread, "IÂll drive myself crazy if I think about that," but think about it I did. I have always wanted a yacht. Maybe I am missing little since Jackie Kennedy called Onassis yacht, a damn boat and said it was boring.

I can't think of an impractical thing, but I have always wished I knew how to dance swing & jitterbug. :)

My husband and I would love to have a motor home. We would like to go south in the winter and it would be so nice when we visit our children. Maybe someday we can get a small one.

An animal sitter to live at my house so we could travel.....one that isn't expensive and is also trustworthy.

I can't think of a "thing" that I want, but I seriously would love to take a trip to Venice. It somehow is stuck in my brain to the point where I occaisionally dream of it. If Venice falls into the ocean during my lifetime I will be unconsolable. Don't know why I feel this strongly, but I do.

A full time gardener and handyman to take care of my house. Ever since DH died, this darn place takes way too much time.

The financial ability to travel extensively (Tuscany, here I come!) and in great comfort.

Some kind soul to come and organize our basement, discarding all of the unnecessary "stuff" that has gathered there.

The money to travel all that we wanted to do - now that would be a great impractical thing to wish for! LOL

I really can't think of anything truly impractical that I'd really want. I'd sure like better health, a more practical home in a different area, sufficient funds that I wouldn't need to worry about modest needs.

But then again a Bell JetRanger helicopter would get me to work faster.... And I could pick Joyful up and we could "chopper-pool"! Course as far away as he lives, maybe I'd also need a Lear Jet, considering the chopper might be kind of slow. Does a 757 operate on corn? But that might be a bit too ostentatious so maybe something more subtle... like STEALTH? :)

A greenhouse and would love to have back our 64-1/2 Mustang.

Mocha money for a lifetime. I just love my daily mochas and I know I need to cut them back, but I love them so!

Oh, I can always be impractical, so for impractical, I want a horse, saddle and everything to take care of it!

I'd love to see the books and other stuff in my house go to a "good home" no I don't mean to just haul it to goodwill etc I've done that so many times. I'd like someone who really would like my stuff to have it DS's have all they need or want now of their own.

I'd be happy with my computer stuff; my sewing machine and related articles, personal momentos and certain books and the TV/Cable I've stopped "collecting "

I'd like to figure out how to get my couch into the bedroom it is so comfortable to sleep on.

I'll take a one way ticket to Italy, please. :)
