Hi Everybody!! I am on my Sister-In Laws computer right now and I don't know if anyone will even get to read this now.I forgot you can get on any computer and do this.((DUH!!)) Any way,I don't want to stay on this too long,((Yeah Right))It's killing me not having my own computer.But I just wanted to say Thanks For A Great Swap.It was especially sweet for me because my daughter Diana and her new Husband of less then a year and who's last name I still can't pronounce correctly got to come with me and they loved it.Diana can't wait to come to the next one,So I'm thinking we'll be coming to the fall swap as well.It was great seeing everyone and sharing all the plants and eating all the wonderful food.I wish I could have stayed longer,But my elbow was giving me a fit.I had surgery on it a couple weeks earlier and the cast was making me sweat and itch.But all in all it was alot of fun. Michelle,My daughter Diana got the wraped package,It was a large ceramic Owl.Very cool!! I probably won't get back on again.So Thanks for a great time as usual Beverly and Mimi!!! Susan gives a lot of info above. Basically, after you make the cut you trim your piece so that it will fit into your envelope. Then you wrap the bottom end in wet paper towel and then in plastic wrap. I would then wrap or bundle the total group in newspaper. Also, please label them. My last batch from Susan were tied together with string and labeled with a masking tape piece that went around and doubled back on itself. On that she had written Spice for those 3 cuttings or Ms Atwood for that one cutting and so on. The idea is to keep the ends moist. Package it up and ship it off. You can see that this is a morning job, for the most part. Hint: If you get yours from others first you can see how they have done it and then use or tweak that method. Another thing is when your cuttings arrive, it is important that you open asap and immerse them in water. You can then take a little while to get them potted up. You can also refrigerate them for a little while, but it is best to pot them up as soon as you can. Life has been known to intervene, though.

As a few of you may know. I am a new garden junkie. I just love it despite struggling with my 10 years of weed and brush growth. I have stared with nothing and now have high hopes an the little ones I have planted. People have so very generously given me lots of things. I have still some how managed to break the bank on my yard. Soil amending, 2 failed grass seeding attempts, irritable sales on discounted plants.. I am rambling. My husband kids that it would be cheaper if I where addicted to cocaine and I remind myself that there will be no garden to enjoy if the mortgage is not paid. Anyway what I guess I am trying to say is that I am dedicated to gardening and though I may not have any plants to bring this year I am excited about coming I hope to bring many plants next year. I would very much like to talk to other about gardening. (my husband smiles and nods) If anyone has any extra plants that will tolerate shade/part shade well I would just love them.
