Glenda, I'm glad that was a positive experience for you, I'm sure not knowing what to expect was a little unsettling. Now you've done it once and are a pro :)

Did you easily find out what you might or might not do for her after her treatment, the day went well overall?

Glenda, that was very nice of you to go with your friend, and I appreciate you sharing here. My friend's dad has colon cancer and he's going in for radiation treatments. He'll go 5 days a week for six weeks, I believe. I hope he makes some friends. He likes to talk and is quite personable.

I'll keep your friend in my thoughts too.

She was tired and ready to go home and rest. She had her chemo pack that her daughter removes. I'm not into everything, but I know what to expect when I take her next time.

She's a fine fine person and I love her dearly.

I had the same kind of experience when I was taking my Mom for chemo. People bond because of their common experiences. I am sooo glad I went with that through her!

Glenda...YOU are a kind person and WE love YOU dearly. Though I've never met you, I feel I do know you, your grandson, your travels, your recipes, your good deeds, etc.

Ditto what redcurls said! Glenda was my first online friend, and I feel blessed to know her. When I first joined the KT, I posted that my brother-in-law and his wife had to evacuate their homes because of a hurricane. Glenda immediately e-mailed me and said they could come stay with her! They ended up staying at home (and were OK), but Glenda's offer touched my heart so much that I will never forget it. She is a truly kind and giving person, and I have enjoyed watching PJR grow up into a fine young man.

Glenda you are a Wonderful Woman and a True Friend. And a Good Cook too!

Glenda, that's a very good work you're doing.

When my mom had cancer, her sister and her three closest friends bonded to be her chemo team. Took her, stayed with her, fought over whose turn it was.

We kids could have managed transportation, but not the many hours of companionship and love. It was priceless.

That's nice, Glenda. Yes, you can meet some awesome people at your oncologist's office. With the exception of my very first chemo treatment, I drove myself to all chemo's and radiation treatments up in Seattle, after my transplant. During my transplant, however, I was not able to drive, and my brother was awesome taking me to twice a day radiation treatments, and to the center a few times a day.
My husband (Had to work) came up for 3 day weekends and drove me and forced me to walk! ahahhaah... Ry did too!

I noticed a couple sitting at a table that had a puzzle on it.

It was hard to tell which one was there for their treatment, but they were such a loving couple, constantly holding hands on the table and wife rubbing every so gently the top of his hand.

I'm sad for those that have to endure but heartwarming to see the bonding.
