Soap dispenser questions

Has anyone ever put in 2 soap dispensers, one for dish soap and one for hand soap? Why shouldn't I get rid of BOTH bottles by my sink?

And what kind of hand soap works with the NeverMT system? All the liquid hand soaps seem really thick.

Soap dispenser holes are permanent. Why have an extra hole there when you may regret it later. I have one for my dish soap and generally use that when I wash my hands. If you prefer to use hand soap, just keep it in a nice looking bottle/container by your sink.

I would put the one you use the most in the NeverMT.

As for the thickness, just water it down a little and it should work with the NeverMT if that's how you want to use it.

Frankly, I just think you might regret putting in that extra hole when it isn't really necessary; it's overkill, IMO. I found, the fewer holes around my sink area the better. Right now I have 3, 2 for the faucet and wished I'd gotten a one hole faucet. It's just bothersome to clean around, but certainly manageable.

But, if you really want it, go ahead. It's your kitchen.

We have one soap dispenser that we use for both dishes and our hands, but I don't buy or use
the "ultra" dish soap as it tends to be thicker and takes more water to rinse away the suds.

Do you have a single sink, or a double? I have a double and I put in on the side where I would soak dishes. It all depends on where you would use it most. Left or right? Some people have their dishwashers on the left, some on the right, and have different ways of washing their dishes, so it's more which side YOU would use. Also depends on where it would fit. Remember the bottle sits below the counter, so there has to be enough room for that. You wouldn't want to drill the hole and not be able to fit the bottle underneath because it hits the side of the cabinet or the sink or something! That said, there's also something called Never MT. It's a tube/contraption that goes from your dispenser and is attached to a Costco sized soap bottle under your sink. If you're going that route, make sure you have room to place that big bottle underneath. (P.S., I have the Never MT and love it! It's there since end of September and haven't thought about it since.)

My Kohler one seems pretty tough. It works really smoothly and well. (it lost some of its finish though; not sure why). I've only had it about 5 years, but I expect it to work for a long, long time. They're very easy to replace--they just slide through the hole in the countertop, and you screw the bolt on from underneath. I like that the soap doesn't move around, doesn't wobble when I push on it, etc. But I've found that it's not that easy to clean, actually--a freestanding dispenser can be washed like a dish, and I can just wipe the countertop where it sat. I'm not sure I'm understanding your question, but I'll take a stab at an answer. I also bought a Moen faucet from Ebay and the owner gave me a free soap dispenser (Moen Aberdeen). There should be a plastic bottle that attaches to the unit to hold the soap. It screws in to the dispenser just like screwing a cap on. If this was not supplied, you can buy a Never MT (highly recommended). This is a $8.00 purchase that allows you to hook up to a large bottle of detergent so you don't have to fill the soap dispenser but maybe once a year (based on usage and bottle size). It's easy to install too. People here swear by it, and I learned about it from this forum and have one also. You can read more about it from the attached link. I have two soap dispensers in my kitchen. We use hand soap in the one on the prep sink and dish soap in the other. We are using two different soaps, because dish soap is too harsh for my BF's skin. I bought the NeverMT, but we haven't hooked it up yet. We're just one month into the new kitchen and we really like having the soap dispensers. We've had to refill the dish soap dispenser once already, so I think that the one that will get the NeverMT.
