What type of handle for pantry pullout and trash pullout

Well drywall is going in now and I am obsessing about another detail.....

I will be using some 4 1/2 inch cup pulls, some 1 3/8 inch knobs, and some 3 inch bow handles. I have some "logic" where each type is placed.

knobs on most doors, cup pulls on drawers, and handles on full ht cupboards.

But now I am planning to have an 18" pantry pull out (full HT) that will pull out with the door instead of openning the door and pull out each shelf.

I will also have an 15" trash pullout.

I think handles, positioned horizontally, on these will work the best. Or I could use a cup pull on the trash pullout?

But that will mean some handles will be vertical and some will be horizontal??? Or maybe just use the handle vertical centered on the pullout?

Would 4 types: handles vertical and horizontal, knobs, and cup pulls be too much?

Thoughts? Obviously I really am TKO!

I used the same pulls that I have on my similar cabinets, which means a different one on the pantry pullout since it is one finish and the trash pullout is on the island in a different finish and with different hardware. The pantry pullout is horizontal on one side of the fridge and the pantry with rollout and broom closet on the other side of the fridge have the same handle installed vertically, The cabinets stacked on top have knobs because they don't all open the same as the ones below them and it looked better to make them different.

I do have cup pulls too -- the same finish as the pantry pullouts, but they are my horizontal on the white cabinets (pantry are blue and island is cherry with black pulls). I didn't mix the cup pulls and handles on the white since I wanted the handle pulls to go on the blue cabinets. So I have all cup pulls but have seen plently of mixed cup pulls and bar handles.

My suggestion is to buy plenty and check them before the holes are drilled, then mix or rework a few if you need to -- like my pantry.

Thank you Lascatz. I looked for your kitchen on the FKB but I did not see it? I am sure I know your kitchen, pale blue cabinets/walls, beautiful island, vintage feel.....
Ofcourse I do not remember your cabinet pulls or handles.

Vertical pulls are fine for the 6" pullouts. My KD had recommended I do that on mine, but I decided to put the same knobs on them that I have on the upper cabinets and base cabinet doors. I also recommend only one pull on a 24" drawer, I think two almost-6" pulls will be too big. (Ditto the tilt out.) Now the trash pullout. Two things to think about... (1) Trash will be going in/out and there may be drips...do you want your dish towel possibly being dripped on w/o you knowing and then drying clean hands/dishes with it? (2) Unless you have a foot pedal and everyone uses it every single time (no exceptions), people w/"yucky raw chicken" hands (or similar) may be opening the trash pullout. Since the handle will be covered by the dishtowel, people will either have to move it or use it to open the pullout, either way touching it w/their "yucky raw chicken" hands or fingers. As with the above, do you want to unknowingly dry clean dishes/hands on a dish towel that was used this way? Like I said, a couple of things to think about. (Our towel hangs on either the refrigerator freezer drawer handle or the warming drawer handle...and even very occasionally on the ovens.)

I agonized over the trash location as well. I've always had freestanding trashcans sitting somewhere - usually in the way - on the floor of my kitchen and have always hated them. I've never been able to find one that I liked or that matched my kitchen, so I've always just had to settle for whatever I could find. I can't stand to have my trash can in the pantry - it just seems incongruous to have my trash in there with my food. I don't like the idea of having it under the sink because I don't like having two functions in the same place. Why agonize? I loathed the idea of having to open the trash with my potentially dirty hands and those free standing cans always had a hands free option. Enter the GW Kitchen forum where I learned about the foot pedal for trash cabinets and the whole thing was decided. I absolutely LOVE having my trash hidden in a cabinet. No one has to move out of the way in order for someone else to access it. Yes, guests have to be told where it is -- but how is that different than anyone else's kitchen? In any kitchen that doesn't have a freestanding trash cans out in the open, aren't guests always having to ask? I never know if it's under the sink or in the pantry or in the adjoining utility room, etc. To review: I love my pull out trash because it's: -- Hidden -- Accessible -- Hands free -- In a convenient and acceptable (to me) location

Need help, trash pull-out hardware, where and what type?

The pull on my trash pull-out is a knob, but it's mounted on the recessed panel of the door, and works fine. I think I had to use a shorter screw, but you could also put a thin piece of wood on the back of the door, to use the screws that come with the pulls, and to reinforce the door panel. Adding: When I first installed the pull-out, I had a cup pull with the extra piece of wood on the back, but later changed to a knob to match the sink cabinet knobs.

I think you are probably thinking of allison's. I haven't taken finished kitchen photos. I do have one still in progress that shows the hardware on the blue wall and the island (before the fridge was adjusted, the island finished etc). The white cabinets have the same oval knob on the uppers and sink bases and a cup pull from the same collection on all the drawers. Hope that helps.

Sorry that I mixed up your kitchen with some one elses- the one I was thinking of was not Allisons either.
Who knows, so many of my bookmarks for GW no longer work!

Glad that helped. Thanks -- I love my blue. I think we really needed something other than brown and white in here. I'm not offended that you mixed up my kitchen with another -- but the other person might be. LOL
