Replacing Roman Tub Faucet - kits?
Comments (0)Home is about 15 years old and had all Price-Pfister faucets. We replaced the master bath sink and shower hardware with PP Catalina in brushed nickel, but not the one in the jacuzzi. While the part is expensive enough, the labor adds just about as much. Someone was telling me they had heard of a kit which will let you replace just the visible part without doing any plumbing. I don't know the model of the old faucet but it's polished brass with the tall transparent handles that look like an accordion. I know this info is kinda vague but hoping someone can point me in the right direction (I know a plumber is one of the right directions but I mean DIY without too many special tools)....See More3 Handle Tub / Shower Combo - replace or use remodeling plate?
Comments (1)I've been spending hrs online looking for one I can use to replace the handles in my shower. I've found a few options but need to talk to the guy who last worked on it first. It went from a 2 handle to a 3 handle and I don't know why yet... 2 handles were fine with me. the 3 holes were there tho. I think. I don't know why there is now another knob. And I very plainly told him lever handles... he put in another set of those round clear plastic things. not only gross to look at but to clean and on my poor hands....See MoreChanging a roman faucet out over jacuzzi tub-need help
Comments (4)If the proper faucet for this type of installation was installed originally the faucet can be serviced and the trim can be upgraded from above the finished surface. For instance, if it is a kohler roman tub filler faucet with polished brass spout, escutcheons and handles the faucet can be serviced with new stems or cartridges and new trim with a different finish. This can all be accomplished with out having to replace the rough valve body which is below the finished surface. you have to find out the manufacturer and model of the faucet. some roman tub filler faucets have to be accessible from below the finished surface for servicing. It is common for the original installer not to advise the customer whether the faucet must be accessible or not....See MoreHelp! Kohler Roman Tub Trim Kit?
Comments (2)Find the model of your valve and order the trim for it. If you can't locate the model #, take a picture of it and call Kohler, send them the picture while you're on the phone with them. Although, I don't think anyone will not rent the house just because the tub fittings are brass....See Morejudithn
