Okay, I posted some pics (links because I don't know how to do the pics) to some other pillows. They are shown for color and type NOT for the way they are placed here. I know that the consensus is that I need other shapes. I am looking. I do like the SW pottery one that was posted in a link above. I may order it if you think it would be good. Even though I don't really like the king shams (stripes) I have a lot invested in them and can't return them, so would like to use if I can get something that looks okay. I have taken pics of several different pillows. They are all basically the same shape besides the teal Euro and king stripe ones. There are two different sets of tan ones. One set is a little darker and then there is one with fringe. The fringed one seems to match both of the tan areas in the comforter. Then I found these pinkish pillows today and they are the same color as the pink in the comforter. There is also another picture on a side wall that has a pinkish hue that works with this. The last link is to another teal small pillow. I have two of these and they are in another room and could be used if needed. Another option is to buy a small decorator pillow in the matching material of the comforter. However, the only one that I find on ebay is about the same size and shape of the ones shown above. I could add a concho for decor if it would help. Ideas please???

Another solution...Although I have a king-size bed and sleeping pillows, I like the look of a coverlet rather than a full length bedspread. So...I've bought the queen size bedspreads and matching queen shams. Instead of stuffing pillows into the shams, I've just added matching fabric in a vertical band to attach the 2 shams together which widens them to king-size. To make the bed I place my sleeping pillows upright on the bed, and then lay the unstuffed set of shams over the sleeping pillows. In front of those I have 2 king-size solid color stuffed (non-sleeping pillows inside) shams. THen decorative pillows as desired. It's easy and quick and because I tend to use the same set of colors, the solid color shams have been reused a number of times. Fabric to coordinate with the matching shams have come from different sources. I've had to shorten bedskirts, so several times I've been able to use the coordinating left over bedskirt fabric to attach to the shams, you only need a strip of about 6-7 inches wide by the height of the shams. I'm also a two king pillows with cases and two king pillows with shams user. Everything is white cotton or white matelasse, with a solid yellow quilt folded across the bottom. Our walls are yellow and the bed is against the wall. We have no headboard or footboard. Kitty cat sleeps on the yellow quilt every night. I also relate to your disappointment! I literally cried when my bed was delivered and set up, and called my sister on the phone I was so beside myself! I thought it looked so big and awkward and awful. I concluded I'd made one big honkin' mistake, and couldn't imagine *how* I could make such a thing actually look attractive. A little over six years later now, and I regard our king-sized bed as one of the best purchases we've ever made! Within a few months of living with it and adjusting my eye to it, I loved it, both in terms of how it looked in the room and how it functioned as a wonderful, dreamy place to sleep! We had a cal king and it was a PIA to find bedding. I would go with the King, after your eye gets used to it, you won't miss those 4 inches at all. We dropped sizes from a Cal King to a Queen now THAT was an adjustment, but I love being able to stay warmer at night and the bonus is bedding is less expensive. Rule of thumb, function over form. If it will work better for you, go with the king.
