Where can I find Fireworks or Fourth of July - quickly?
Comments (4)webwalkway.com has it for $12.00. It's a small division, but very healthy, and mine just took off and started growing like mad as soon as I planted it. She could probably mail it immediately, and is located in eastern Iowa, so it would get to you by the fourth. Hallson's also has it, but only for local pickup. Maybe someone on the forum lives close enough to them to buy it and mail it for you? You might also consider Revolution, Patriot, Minuteman, Independence, or maybe even Potomac Pride or Salute, all of which might be available locally, and would probably be more reasonably priced than $25.00....See MoreFireworks on the 4th of July
Comments (7)frostynyc - it was a dinky tc in a cell when I got it - planted near the edge of another hosta - figured 2 nibbles by a rabbit and it was gone. Excited to see it back the following year. As stated above - moved it a couple of times - never seemed to affect it. Lot of white in this one so I doubt many would consider it a good grower. Been about the same size the last 3 years (6 eyes). The hosta to the right is Wide Brim. Babka - definitely small, but not mini. 2nd flush of leaves makes a nice difference to how it looks. When I started leaving my Oak Leaves on the gardens over winter, was concerned it would have problems - but OK both years. I do make a point to clear leaves off it in spring, especially if it is very wet. hey_j have the g-kids watch for fireflies - just saw the first ones this week. Comments (19)gina, they gave her a precription for something for pain, when it runs out I'll tell her to take some naproxyn, thanks. Linda, the Sgt. from the Sheriff's Department who was on the scene told me the motorcycle rider was the luckiest SOB he'd ever seen. All he was worried about was his motorcycle, but I have a feeling he's gotten over that by today. Accident reconstruction is still ongoing but from the length of the skid mark and the damage to the two vehicles, they figure he was going at least 70 mph. He was riding with a friend who got ahead of him and he was trying to "catch up". On a two lane country road lined with hay fields, tractors, wagons full of baled hay and people. Sigh. I just hope that leg is "fixable" and that he doesn't have too many long term complications from it. Annie...See Moredogs & thunder & fireworks
Comments (8)I had a husky mix who was afraid of thunderstorms as well. I tried rescue remedy, it took the edge off a little but did not work. The only thing for her was to go down to the basement (when we had one) and play ball until the storms passed. It would also help her when she would lay up against the dishwasher to oven - I think this might have been a grounding effect. Now my current dog does not have an issue with thunderstorms, but goes ballistic with fireworks - he goes crazy barking, running around inside the house. I have tried anxiety wraps, rescue remedy, homeopathy, fireworks cds, DAP diffusers etc. etc. none have worked. I have also heard about melatonin working but have not tried it. Do a google search on dog melatonin fireworks for articles. For some reason this forum won't allow me to put the link in the Optional Link URL box --- Good luck!...See MoreJaneGael
