We are doing a budget remodel on the basement. It will be primarily used as a teenage hangout (for girls) or as my husband's mancave. I'd like it to have an urban look and have been studying the colors in the local Starbucks but I still can't figure it out. Here are a few questions:

1) We are painting the exposed ceiling. Not sure if I should go with black, grey OR use the same color that I use on the walls.

2) I've explored dark wall colors, light colors, greens, orange, gray, etc. It's not a big room so I don't want it to be obnoxious but I need it to look teenage-cool/mancave acceptable. Our pottery barn sectional with a beige everyday suede is going down there so I'm shying away from the beiges.

3) We are painting the floor. I wanted to do concrete staining but DH said it was too much work. So I've agreed to paint and will spruce it up with some rugs.
