Need help choosing colors for basement

Here's what's going on:

I am going to spray the ceiling flat black over the next couple of days.

The flooring will be changed to....something...something other than dark brown asbestos tile.

the walls are currently Glidden Soft Candlelight (pale pale yellow/cream).

Plan to keep the trim white.

I'm not sure what to do with the beams in the middle of the room, which cover up the metal posts and beams. They aren't in perfect shape so I don't want to make them features, but I do think they look better than the plain metal./ So should i paint the boards covering the beam/posts black, like the ceiling? or should I paint the boards covering the beam/posts white or the pale yellow currently on the wall?

I know it is hard to picture, but I am also looking for good ideas what kind/color of flooring would be best in this basement. (Which was truly crappy).

Pictures its current (crappy) state. SCeiling will be painted black soon.
