I was thinking about about watching it on Amazon Prime instant video after I'm done with my Downton Abbey binging. I can't believe that I haven't watched that series until now. Amazon Prime is getting me through the basketball championship season with my good humor in tact, lol.

chisue...I had forgotten all about 'Des Babies'. As I recall, that was a fairly recent discovery, right? And by recent, I mean within our adult lifetimes. I think I remember hearing about it for the first time in my 20s...I'm now 65. I'm sorry that you may fall into that reality. maina...I think I could almost envy you for not having television. It has taken over my evenings to the point that sitting down in front of the TV after dinner is automatic. Not good. I think Thalidomide is still used today as a cancer drug. I may be wrong, but I think it's still out there. Never to be used again in pregnant women but it does have some uses. Strange to think of that drug still in the world.

I haven't watched Call the Midwife before, just watched two this weekend and I think I'm hooked. Maire_cate, I'm so excited to see Les Miserables, I'm interested to see how much of the story they tell. My son was Enjolras in high school (the rebel with the red vest), so I started reading the book on the day of auditions. I finally finished by the last night of the show 4 months later, and I wholesale skipped pages and pages of descriptions of sewer systems, tree-pruning, Napoleonic battles, and Swiss clergy lol. I hope they condense at least a little of it.

I like Sanditon, but you need to watch it from the first episode. Otherwise, you won't get what is going on with the main character. I watched 'After We Die' but found it too disturbing and couldn't watch it. A mother using her son to weed out dangerous drug dealers...really? So, I clicked the remote to the Oscars (which I had no intention to watch) and it was the moment Will Smith stormed the stage and punched Chris Rock. I didn't know what was going on, whether it was a clip from somethings or whatever. Then the camera showed Smith shouting at Chris Rock but the words were bleeped. However, you could make out the curses. I was stunned. Very strange. I haven't been to a movie in years and never watch the Oscars. I was truly puzzled. Then when Will Smith won and cried and cried, I was really disgusted. My opinion, he should have been led out in handcuffs. The Academy should have given his award to another actor. His behavior was really bad. Anyway, next time I don't like a PBS show, I'll find something else to watch. Jane
