Alberta, How are you doing now? Has the initial shock warn off a bit? Try to look at it this way when it comes to you. Age is just a number, drum that in to your head about yourself. Then start thinking this way, I'm going to be a great grandmother and I'm only 62, Yup, only 62 and I can still enjoy having those littleones around me and teaching them plenty of things, especially gardening. Most great grandmothers are much older and don't really get the chance to enjoy their great grandchildren they way you will be able to. Congrats Fran

The color visualizers are not tools to use for color selection. The colors you see on your monitor 99.9% of the time look nothing like the actual paint chip, let alone what it will look like in real life in your space. The paint names and numbers mean nothing. Best you can get out of the color apps and visualizers is a loose - very loose - sense of hue. It's a red, it's a blue, it's a green. When it comes to neutrals like the popular grays, greiges and taupes you REALLY can not count on what your monitor is showing you. Capturing tones of gray is one of the more challenging aspects of color calibration for a monitor and we won't EVEN talk about what it's like to print those kinds of colors accurately. Play with the visualizers, but don't count on them for anything.

Ha! I used to live in a neighborhood in suburban SF that had a TON of so-called Brady Bunch houses. I love them! I really like the vertical plank siding and would think seriously about replacing it with Hardie Plank or similar which is an engineered material that is rot-resistant. Or possibly a combination of Hardie plank and stucco, but I wouldn't do all stucco because I think it would take away from the original architectural intent of the house. It's as though an A-frame and a ranch house had a baby, and I love the look. Go full-on mid-century modern. Take some cues from the ranch houses in Palm Springs or even the Eichlers that are also popular in California.
