I too, was very reluctant to change browsers and get away from what had served me so well over the years, and I know that this is redundant, but I finally downloaded FireFox for free and eased into it with I.E. still as my default browser and netscape there also if I needed it. It did not take long to learn to use FireFox and see the many advantages to it. You do not lose all your bookmarks or favorites, it just works them right in. They have a ton of free extensions like adblocker that you can download to enhance your surfing pleasure and experience. The script blocking thing is a real boon, I was reluctant to turn scripts off which allows most of that intrusive, aggravating crap, but that part is easy to use. Right now there is a little tool bar at the bottom of my screen showing scripts currently forbidden and an option area that I can click on to make several choices to either allow, or temporarily allow G.W. and several of those advertising companies that do the harm. If I temporarily allow them, (which I rarely do except on sites where I need that to shop or something) it adds more interactive functionality until I leave the site, then shuts them off again, and you do not have to be computer savvy enough to go into your settings etc. to manually turn them off and on. It took awhile to get things just right, but now I do not see any of that irritating crap that intrudes, seldom ever see any thing in the right margin, and since it is all blocked off it does not bog your computer down loading up all that crap. I have high speed broadband, and all that junk was even slowing it down and making for a miserable visit to G.W. I can just imagine what it does to those on dial up connections. Well, I tried to use the old user id and password but it would not display anything but a page with a create account button. I entered responses to the create account questions and I must have typoed something but it did not let me complete the process. When I finally was able to get past the error, it sent a code to my email address and after I entered it back, it now wants me to login elsewhere to "sync". Where did that come from??? All I needed was access to the support forum.... sigh... Richard, why would Firefox be deleting the cookies? I have not requested that on purpose but, you never know what will an upgrade change. Ok, I looked and found that there is a check mark saying to delete all cookies when some permanent private browsing mode blah blah is set. It will not let me uncheck it. No idea what that mode is talking about but it seems related to the problem.... Any idea how to change this "mode"? The section titled "logins and passwords", the first line has no check mark beside "ask to save logins..." but the ones underneath have check marks. I cannot override them when I try to uncheck.

I can't answer the question about no replies on the questionable posts. But really, would Paula really post that message at this time of the year? You would think she would post something about getting your photos ready or "look forward to December 26. The post in question looks like a post that would be done in Late January, which was roughly 8 months ago. I too, enjoy this group. I don't do facebook, so I can't really comment on the quality of the hosta forums. The only one I have used is the Hosta Disease site, which was moderated by Carol Brashear at the time. That was several years ago, though. They really couldn't answer my questions, but The Texas A&M disease diagnostic lab didn't help much either. You know, the world changes - sometimes for the better and sometimes, not. bkay

They have a filter that catches some words, some times, for some people. It's a weird, random, janky filter - some people report not being able to get a post through with trigger words that don't cause problems for other people. Amazon, Covid, vaccination are all trigger words some people say they can't get to post, yet I've never had a problem with those words. When this happens to me, I keep editing the post and trying different words which may be causing the problem. It's a guessing game.
