Tub drain line test

I am doing a bath remodel - all supply lines are in and have been under pressure for a few weeks - no issues

Spoke to the inspector and he says given the scope of the project that supply lines under pressure are fine for his testing and for the drain lines (for which there was some minor rerouting) he will just want to check the layout and look for good glue use etc - no water or air test needed

But for my own purposes I have already tested the shower drain lines via running water through the trap riser for a couple of hours - but for the tub right now the trap is solvent weleded in place waiting the tub waste assembly hookup - is there anyway to test that similar to the shower - I tried flowing water into the trap but without a riser and my trap ranneth over -- can I glue on a riser similar to the shower to test or will that interfere with the eventual tub waste assemble

I think I am overthinking it but thanks very much for any advice -

Is this above ground now, or sunk in-ground. If it is above ground, you can take the rubber liner out and use the drain for.......a place it can drain. Or take a secateur and remove the area over the drain hole. Then it will drain. ;-) I'd dummy up the lower half to 2/3 of the tub with a sharply draining material like pea gravel, something non-organic so it won't decompose and start stenching. Then, I'd cover it with a light soil mixture. Then plant away with anything you want as long as you can keep the hole open and draining, it's no different than a large flower pot.

The Bain Ultra tubs (and I would think most airbubble tubs) are very low maintenance unlike many whirlpool tubs that need monthly cleansing cycles. Resale-wise I think alot of people are looking for a master bath with a tub that does something therapeutic, so I don't think it matters if it's air or whirlpool. If you're not worried about resale, I would say do what you feel is right for your lifestyle. Having the air gives you the choice of using the tub as a soaker or as a therapeutic option if your back is hurting, you've pulled a muscle, etc. With the soaker, soaking is the only option you have. I personally, like to leave my options open. Just my $0.02.

I had a reply that just disappeared! GRR. Short version: Plumber didn't install a new valve, used the old one. However to my dismay, they installed an ugly (to me) handle/faucet...because they are limited in choices using the old valve. If there had been a new valve installed, maybe a different outcome? I showed the plumber what HD had that I preferred. Turns out plumbers don't have wholesale inventory access to HD and they think the HD hardware is "lower quality". So now I am stuck with limited options because of the old valve business. I have a nice brushed nickel finish on my sink taps. I'm not asking to match 100%. But I would have liked a nice clean finish in a similar tone of brushed nickel for my bathtub tap. At the time of ordering, I thought the liner was the way to go. Our house is pre 1990 and I didn't really want the hassle of asbestos testing and redoing the tile surround.

Considering stand alone bath tub, what are Pro and Cons?

I am considering stand alone bath tub on claws legs. I have an area about 9x3ft next to the window. Currently I have a small shower 3x3 in the same area, so I think I have no problem with the drain and water lines hookup. What are the pros and cons for the claw feet bathtub? Do I need to do any floor reinforcement? Any general advise about it? Thanks
