Can anyone identify what these dishes are?

The link below is for Denny's Restuarant chain in Japan. Hence it is in Japanese. The food doesn't look ANYTHING like what you get at a domestic Denny's. If you either speak Japanese or think you can figure out what that is, please come forward.

Just for a chuckle, it looks like you can make reservations on the website! Yes I said reservations LOL. At Denny's. In Japan.

The middle top one is either a beef patty or cut of beef with a cheese sauce (broiled) on top with potatoes. The 2nd row on the left is a seafood spaghetti. The 2nd row on the right is a dessert with apples (don't know exactly what). The top right looks like a beef stew. Don't have a clue about the rolled one at the left.

Here's a link to a restaurant chain (The Curry House) in So. Cal. that we frequent often that has menu items that very much resemble the Denny's ones. It's one of my son's favorite restaurants.

Sorry, I didn't mean to be so sensitive. I guess I was just having a bad day. In any case, the picture WAS taken in sunlight, and with a low end digital camera at that. I also don't want to " beat a dead horse" but if you want a comparision picture of the same flower (but as I remember, NOT the same exact bloom) you can see one that was taken inside the house, on the kitchen counter under flourescent light, on a ebay listing where I am selling seeds. (I hope that reference doesn't violate the no sell rules; I delibertly did not give the exact reference. If you want it you can privately email me and I will give it to you.) I would guess however, altho I really don't remember, that an automatic flash was used for the inside picture. In the interests of any future situation (and because I can still learn!) can you recommend how one can take a picture and avoid the problem? (Assuming I am using a relatively cheap camera and that camera's are not my thing.) It is in all of our interests that our pictures be as accurate representations as possible! Amaryllislvr

The mark is barely discernible. The little I found out is from doing pencil rubbings, and no letters show up at all. I've examined it in the sunlight, with my jeweler's loupe, to no avail. Only the barest outline of the mark, with no lettering to be seen. I don't know what you mean by "img=". There is no line containing that under any of my pics on Photobucket.

You reading the mark correctly. You know the manufacturer, their location, the time frame that mark was used, and the name of the pattern. What else is there to know? Is there something specific you're looking for? There were thousands of dish patterns made in England from, say, 1850-1950. "Clive" is one of those patterns. It was made by one of hundreds of potters...F. Winkle & Co. Here's a link to some brief info on the company. The link even gives you maps and pictures. So far the webs behind look like web-worms. If it were my situation I might remove the sparse and spindly, out of context looking (non-native and yellow leaved), too close to the drive Hinoki and let the grove of trees behind them be the feature. For instance in the second shot it looks like the conifer is interfering with our intended view of the birches behind, and those are what should be retained instead of the cypress - I certainly wouldn't cut the larger trees down in order to favor the Hinoki, which by this point is a pretty poor specimen. Especially in the first picture, where the stairs are shown the house appears as a cabin or lodge in the woods, with the stairs a sort of tree walk that lifts you up into the woodland canopy. This makes the one Hinoki between them and the drive in particular looking physically and visually misplaced, a superfluous and distracting element, that has overwhelmed the small space it was placed within. Maybe the property has another area where you could start over with some new specimens of dwarf or slow-growing conifers where they could be seen against the house, or otherwise in a more suitable setting. And not where they will soon be growing out over an access feature, or look too tall for the area they occupy (trees and shrubs located within beds or other clearly defined areas tend to look in scale when about 2 1/2 times as tall as the space is wide at the point where each is planted. Although the way many people plant and prune it seems even this size looks excessive to them).

I think the seafood spaghetti and the thing that looks like a cinnamon bun made out of beef looks pretty darn yummy :-)
Much more appetizing than the standard fried heart attack platter shown on dennys.com U.S. site.

They all look good to me. I don't see a Grand Slam Breakfast, though. I agree, they look better than the usual stack of pancakes with disgusting strawberry goop and a giant scoop of whipped cream with sausage, bacon, greasy home fires on the side. I was in a Denny's last summer -- first time in many years. They even made a salad disgusting.

One of my first jobs was at a Dennys.....don't get me started LOL!!!

Nope....they all look like something made out of paint and glue for the camera....
But then I am not familiar with Denny's usual pictures. I think I have only eaten there once 30 or more years ago! It is the last stop coming home from a day shopping in the "city" and I have stopped there for a coke for the road....and it seems they can even mess that up!
Not a Denny's fan.

Denny's in Japan are owned by a Japanese company that bought 7-Eleven in the US. Before they did, they owned a lot of 7-11 stores in Japan. Anyway it's obviously a much different menu. I wonder why they wanted to use the same name. Even McDonalds which is big there similar fare than it does here.

Thanks for the translation you guys.
I usually refer to alta vista's babel fish for translating web sites but they didn't have japanese. I didn't know google could do it. I should have known that google can do anything.

It looks better than what I've seen at The Curry House, which is still better than what I've seen at Denny's here. I've gone to restaurants on Sawtelle in West L.A. that had menus with only pictures, but the pictures were much more obvious - probably because most of them were of seafood. It's really hard to tell from a picture of beef.
