Brenda i honestly couldn't think of a more fun thing to do on my birthday than go shopping for plants. I am a plantaholic too and i even get suckered in by the cheap flower books that come in winter. Everything just looks so pretty and then you get it and its a little stick?! LOL....I just cant help it i love them all! My poor hubby already looks like a drunk when he mows the grass because i plant bushes and trees everywhere and he has to weave in and out, in and out. I was teasing him one day and told him he mowed like a snake and he said "thanks to my wife"! LOL...I need a landscaper so bad because i suck at it. Im scared to put my precious babies next to the fence because we have toxic neighbors that cut and spray on our side. So i plant them all over the middle of the yard. I dont know how he puts up with me but he does. I LOVE your dinosaur petunia on steroids! How cool is that! I have to get plants at least over two feet tall because my grass takes them over and i will never find them again. Poor hubby would accidentally mow them down and then i would cry. Yes im a baby and cry for my poor plants. Especially if it is one i had for a long time. LOL....Back to the needing a landscaper thang :-) Brenda please ask your mom if there is a trick to growing viburnums because i am new at it and i dont want to kill my new babies. I know they like it moist and sunny, if she can think of anything else please let me know ,if you dont mind :-) I love native plants too. Big surprise huh :-) Bonnie

Thanks you guys! First thing Sunday morning my mom called to wish me happy birthday. My dad in the background, wanted to let me know that in 5 years I would be 50 and in 10 years I could take early retirement. (Guess I would have to work somewhere where that would apply first). I spent time taking pictures of new irises that just opened and cleaned the house a little since I knew that there were people coming for supper (but I didn't know who). My DH made supper while others who came brought salads and cake. Physically, I felt the best and coughed the least for the first time in 3 weeks. Pneumonia is not fun. I had been sleeping for hours each day and coughing a lot. I had never had pneumonia before and hopefully will never have it again. My DH and daughter and her husband went together and bought me a HP Photosmart printer. But, we can't install it yet because my computer only has 500mb of space left (because of all the GBs of pictures that are on it) and the printer installation uses 425 of memory. Think we need to burn some DVD's of pictures! Does anyone else have this printer? What do you think of it? But my best birthday present came yesterday. Laurie, 2 other friends of ours and myself drove to St. Anne's and visited Eleanor Hutchison who has a Canadian iris display garden in her yard. Over the past few weeks, Eleanor saw irises in my photobucket that she didn't have and I saw irises that she posted on Can-West Iris Society website, that I didn't have, so we traded. Then while we were there I bought some more. So, all in all, I came home with another 20 different kinds of MDBs and SDBs. Eleanor also took us to 4 nurseries in the area and we went to one on our own. Laurie's car was full of plants on the way home. We only arrived home at 9:30 just in time to bring in all the annual pots off the deck and cover the tomatoes and peppers in the garden because of the chance of frost last night.(It didn't freeze here last night, thank goodness) So, some new irises to my collection, that I can remember the names for, are... Thanks so much for the birthday wishes -- it was a really wonderful birthday weekend. It started at a company party with a surprise birthday gift of a replacement of a ring that was lost (probably stolen) at the accident scene.

Then a surprise birthday party last evening at The Vineyard on the outskirts of San Antonio, which was beautiful, the food outstanding, superb service and even the parking lot had some type of reflective glass pieces at night which was a perfect ending to a wonderful evening. The party was thrown by my daughter and god daughter and her husband. Friends and family came in from out of town and it was great fun. Then this morning they hosted a brunch at Mi Terra.

Gina, I still have a few hurdles to get over due to the accident, but the main thing is that I am slowly getting over them, maybe not very gracefully, but over them!

I am promised pictures of the party and when I get them I will post them.
